DEAS comes back to Second State with his brand new ‘Red Source’ EP following the extremely well received ‘Velocity’EP earlier this year. In true DEAS fashion he delivers four dance floor burners of high pace, abrasive yet euphoric Techno that will turn any rave into a moment of full fledge mayhem.
Diving in head first, ‘Red Source’ has the “pedal to the metal” where brisk percussion lays the ground work for sonic bleeps and eery vocals reminiscent of an excursion into deep space travel. ‘Face To Face’ follows suit with the same approach and concept yet relies more heavily on the drums to do the heavy lifting. Maintaining the pace and sticking to his signature tools, DEAS takes his sound palette and switches out the programming of expected sounds creating a surprisingly cool cut with ‘Second Signal’. Finalizing the EP, ‘Poison’ saves the ethereal and haunting sonics for last where eery harmonies hover over cinematic aural sparkles and an undeniably infectious groove emanating into an absolutely gorgeous yet chilling composition ideal for the more emotional Techno moments.

Next up on Kuukou is a well-rounded 2-tracker from Barcelona based Lluis Ribalta. After a highly prosperous two decades in the industry including more than 40 world chart hits - the lauded producer takes things right back to the fundamentals with some refined, effective Techno.

'Phoenix' kicks the record off with some high pressure, pneumatic force. Formidable power is generated from very few elements across a harsh, otherworldly excursion as bright, metallic signals beam out rendering the topography of a dystopian planet. Hats sync with the kick, ratcheting up tension as the groove drills further and further down, generating the magnetic pull of a black hole as it travels. 

'Moksha' is pulled along by a thick, throbbing bass line that acts as a ballast for the track while expressive low-end synths snarl and rip their way through the base of the groove. A rugged foundation is laid for catchy, spectral vocals that will hook the dance floor as tension escalates towards a deep, expansive breakdown. A broken beat kicks and snaps while brooding strings sweep overhead before the energy reaches a peak, bringing a potent pair of club tracks to a close.

The title track 'Chrono Spiral' sets the pace with razor-sharp percussion, a relentless groove, and eerie modular and vocal stabs that soar through time like mechanical echoes. The track builds tension through subtle shifts and syncopated patterns, creating a sense of propulsion that perfectly captures the EP’s temporal theme.

'Groove Tides' dives deeper into rhythm, pushing rolling low-end energy under intricate hats and a warped vocal slice that ebbs and flows like a restless tide. It's a DJ tool at heart, but with enough funk and swing to catch dancers off guard – built for those marathon sets that refuse to let up.

'Mildew Funk' brings a raw texture, combining dirty synth licks with filtered chords and a pulsating bassline that oozes underground flavour. There’s a touch of mischief here — think sweaty basements, strobing lights, and hypnotic repetition layered with funk-fuelled attitude.

'Tunnel Vision' closes the EP with a sophisticated touch. A tight, evolving groove pulses through a dense tunnel of reverb and atmosphere. Mechanical textures, looped bleeps, and rolling sublayers create a trance-inducing momentum — perfect for those introspective 4 AM moments when the outside world disappears.

PREMIERE: Bedez - Chrono Spiral [Say What?]

Say What? is happy to welcome the new collaborative EP from Spanish/Chilean techno craftsmen Under The FX and JFERNANDEZ. Fusing precision-engineered grooves with emotional depth, the duo dives into the disorienting and fascinating world of time perception through hypnotic, rolling techno.

Opening the EP with elegant chaos, 'Desfase Circular' plays with looping sequences and subtly shifting percussion that evolve in a spiralling motion. Syncopated low-end patterns pull the listener in while atmospheric elements swell and retract like tidal waves of tension. It’s a circular rhythm that never quite returns to the same place.

A mechanical heart beats off-kilter in 'Pulso Desviado'. Clock-like clicks, rolling sub-bass, and warped synth stabs generate a hypnotic drive that feels both relentless and unstable. The groove continuously deviates from expected patterns, creating a sense of temporal distortion—like a second hand skipping beats in a dream..

The third track on the release 'Reloj Interno' explores the body’s own rhythm. Here, organic percussion interlocks with warm, rolling bass and subtle modular tones. The groove feels intimate and alive—almost biological. Pulses echo like a heartbeat, gradually layered with evolving synth textures that mirror the shifts of day and night. It’s a track that breathes, grounded in groove but aimed toward inner exploration.

Closing the EP on a deeper, more meditative note, 'Tiempo Suspendido' suspends time itself. Space opens up between the kick and the rhythmic elements, allowing haunting pads and ghostly effects to drift in like forgotten memories. The track moves slowly yet purposefully, capturing that strange sensation when moments feel stretched—when time no longer feels like a straight line. Perfect for closing sets or introspective home listening.
