Legendary Italian producer Dusty Kid returns to the spotlight with a special standalone remix of his powerful track Kore, reimagined by none other than German techno icons Oliver Huntemann & André Winter- out this August on Dear Deer. Known for his genre-bending approach and analog-rich sound, Dusty Kid has built a loyal global following through decades of groundbreaking releases on labels like Systematic, Boxer & Southern Fried. Now, Kore gets a cutting-edge rework from two pioneers of the German techno scene: - Oliver Huntemann, the Hamburg-based legend behind Senso Sounds, whose deep, hypnotic sound has defined peak-time sets worldwide. - André Winter, a master of tight, driving grooves and longtime collaborator with Huntemann, is responsible for some of the most iconic underground tracks of the past two decades. Their remix is a masterclass in Techno, rooted in the classic German school of production - hypnotic, tense, and crafted for pure club impact. Expect brooding basslines, precision synth work, and a cinematic atmosphere that transforms Kore into something truly timeless. PREMIERE: Dusty Kid - Kore (André Winter & Oliver Huntemann Remix) [DEAR DEER]

Having laid strong musical foundations with early releases on Supdub, including debut album ‘Breakthrough’, Rostock’s Carlo Ruetz enjoyed another career defining moment with the 2014 release of ‘Controlled By Robots’. A label debut that lead to his inclusion as one of the new generation of Richie Hawtin’s Minus artists. 

Fast forward to 2016 and Carlo has spread the love further, featuring his music on the likes of KD Raw, Deeperfect, Trapez and most recently Elevate. He closes out the year with his SCI+TEC debut, the impressive double-header of Instinct / Distorted Perception. 

The disconcerting darkness of Instinct with it’s purring bassline and waves of echoing synth create an electrically charged calm-before-the-storm atmosphere. Its tempestuous twin, Distorted Perception, lulls us with its initial hypnotic beats, before finishing with a flourish of metallic strikes that stir the senses.

Kölsch makes his debut on Drumcode, as an Adam Beyer favourite gets his classy remix touch.

Drumcode set the standard with its first release of 2019, recruiting Amelie Lens to deliver an electrifying re-rub of Adam Beyer’s ‘Teach Me’, a fitting highlight to mark the label’s 200th release back in January. As we hit the business end of the year, another Beyer vintage gets the remix treatment as Kölsch adds to his outstanding discography with a maiden DC contribution.

First released back in 2015, ‘What You Need’ was the perfect marriage of deep groove-licked techno and slinky smooth synth lines. Retaining the exotic riff of the original, Kölsch builds tension and euphoria in equal doses as melancholic chords build up in intensity before dramatic string sequences enter the game. It’s the kind of end-of-night soundtrack that’ll make even the most hardened raver go a little misty eyed and a classic addition to the Drumcode catalogue.

Ten years ago, Berlin’s Pan-Pot put out the Confronted EP on Mobilee, a landmark release centred around the title track, eleven and a half minutes of slow-burning techno. A decade later, the Second State dons have decided to celebrate their classic track with a reissue that reflects their evolution. Featuring three remixes from Pan-Pot themselves, Tassilo Ippenberger and Thomas Benedix have also recruited four of the scene’s hottest talents for a diverse, comprehensive remix package that reimagines the source material for today’s dancefloors.

Opening up the remix package, the “Basement” remix by Pan-Pot adds barking synths and snatches of vocal FX in a murky, offbeat edit of the classic. Glaswegian rising star Frazi.er delivers a “Raw”, lean techno tool with subtle tweaks like the crystalline synths piping through the mix and aggressive, springy bass that charges in mid-way through. Farrago, a Lenske favourite from Belgium, takes the listener on a weirder journey built around bounces, bleeps and discombobulation – it’s by far the most foreign departure on the EP and it lives up to the “Welcome to Goa” title.

The “Up In The Air” remix by Pan-Pot removes the pounding kick and turns the mood tribal with steel drums and rubbery, muted basslines. It’s a housier cut well suited to wonky wigouts. French newcomer [ Wex 10 ] takes care of the “Bigroom” remix, ushered in by an outsized, unapologetic kick soon joined by the original’s ominous chords and the cool, detached female vocal. [ Wex 10 ] picks up the BPM, adds some snare rolls and turns in a fist-pumping version for festivals and superclubs. Up-and-comer Anfisa Letyago, from Naples by way of Siberia, sends a rippling acid synth through the mix like lightning in a hi-NRG alternative perfect for trancier sets in her “Stranger” remix. The word “crazy” is set on an electrifying loop, commanding ravers to give in and let go.

Closing the remix EP, the “Paradise” remix by Pan-Pot goes in the opposite direction, opening with bird calls and idyllic chiming synths before moving into breaksy territory. Surprising and strangely dreamy, it completes a richly varied remix package that breathes new life into a beloved classic.
