This next release from label boss Boris, delivers a masterpiece for a big-room warehouse techno setting. Language possesses all the dark rolling drum patterns, heavy percussions and heaping layers that make up a classic industrial techno piece. Carlo Lio adds in pronounced kick and sizzling hi¢s that continue to grow throughout the track, creating an energetic swell in the room. Language is one of those tracks that cannot contain its ability to take-over any size room.

DC175 comes courtesy of Alias, a new project comprising of Harvey & Ryan McKay, who are two acts who have previously released solo material on the label. Harvey McKay’s last appearance was in late 2016 when he dropped ‘The Mad Drummer’ on A-Sides Vol. 4 whereas Ryan McKay’s last outing was in 2015 when he appeared on A-Sides Vol.3 under the name Skiver. This is the first collaborative project between the Scottish duo under their new moniker Alias.

The EP opens with ‘Pentatonic’; A tough sounding track that has been designed for the forward-thinkers. ‘The Truth’ follows up sharply, with vintage piano stabs and a vocal that gives the track abounding energy. The on-point percussion leads you on a trip of pure rapture. The release closes with the apocalyptic ‘Dream Taker’, which is teeming with sinister vocal action, hostile synth work and a sublime way to sign off.

Roman Lindau is back and in true Lindau fashion delivers three groove heavy, red hot tunes ready for full on dance floor destruction with his ‘Acid Bells’ EP. The title track 'Acid Bells’ fires off with agile percussion before quickly adding an infectious melody and vocal snaps brimming with attitude before finally unleashing a timeless acid hook which solidifies all the elements into a massive, peak time occasion. ‘Rough Ride’ follows suit but takes a more modish approach with lively grooves and hypnotic, whirling sonics that guarantee a wild floor burner. Wrapping things up is the final track ‘I’m Restless’ which perfectly balances powerful, four-to-the-floor Techno with moody, uplifting melodies assuring those moments where all eyes are closed and all hands are in the air. Currently on an incredible roll with release after release on a whole host of key labels – including Terminal M, Suara and Cocoon - Barcelona’s Bastian Bux makes his debut on Christian Smith’s Tronic label and it’s one of his most brazen EPs to date.

‘Lagano’ takes the lead and sets the parameters. Thundering but bouncy, you can already hear the funk long before the stunning rave riff comes in. Timeless, warehouse demolishing fun. This is proper techno. And it’s in good company… ‘Inside’ swaggers like a caveman, bashing down the walls with its swinging tribal drum arrangement while ‘Legacy’ opts for a faster, lighter, synth-led vibe that nods to the likes of Fabrice Lig and friends further afield in Detroit. Upbeat, pacey and coated in rushes.

Last but not least we hit ‘Vault’. The b-side black sheep of the EP, there’s a much slower, sexier twist in the tale as we’re taken through the smoky pathways of Bux’s mind until we’re going round in sweet synth-licked circles.
