It’s a little mix i made for Rustie, a space traveller friend of mine. Hes currently 2 years into a 3 year mission. Its important work hes doing, exploring the cosmos, but he gets lonely up there. Misses his family, friends, cold beer etc.
He does have a colleague with him. Dale.. He likes Dale. Deeply respects him. Dale’s quick thinking had saved both thier lives more than once. But after a couple years on the ship they’ve run out of things to say to each other. They prefer listening to music these days. They even have an occasional dance to lighten the mood, although the lack of gravity means they move slowly and so prefer songs with slower tempos. 
I quite liked how the mix of slow, off kilter, dubby, slightly sad, spacey disco tunes came out so decided to share with the rest of you.

Le 1er février dernier (2025), 3 de nos voyous jouaient pour le closing du festival Waterproof à Rennes, la soirée "Let's Dance" à l'Ubu !
Pendant 6 heures, elle et ils ont fait de leur mieux (et nous on trouve que c'était super) pour faire danser les gens sur différents rythmes. 

Voilà donc l'enregistrement du mix, c'est cadeau et on espère que ça vous fera bouger la tête et le corps peu importe où et quand vous l'écouterez :)

Swimming is the first release on Periodica International, and finds Daniel Monaco collaborating with MC Matsui for two tracks of oceanic esoterica, wherein grooves of spaced out disco and mediterranean funk meet textures of early electro and hip-hop. Skeletal dancefloor drums anchor flamboyant basslines as they work between liquid smoothness and a staccato pulse, cosmic keyboard accents melt down like starlight, and synth leads snake through solos of alien baroque and Arabian exotica while palm-muting guitars and tropical mallet flourishes add further colorations. And guiding the grooves are the lysergic musings, spoken word serenades, and proto-rap poetics of MC Matsui, who comes off like a stoned mystic wandering the beach as turtles and dolphins call him out to sea.
