Sunny Day at the Park

Was a challenging set for me playing after 137BPM banging techno  and before more banging techno. I tried to keep it trippy and groovy,within the boundaries of what i like to play, but with enough energy to not empty the floor :P

In 2015 Loveland asked SQL to play a three hour live set for their mighty Live stage alongside Kolsch, Gui Boratto, Extrawelt, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Mathew Jonson and Arjuna Schiks. The first time SQL ever played a live set of this length (only his own music, played live) turned out perfectly. We uploaded the full three hour ride with lots of unreleased material from one of Gem's finest and most talented.

Just in time for summer, and another huge season of gigs across the world, Maceo Plex returns to his own Ellum Audio with a sure to be huge new single.

This is Maceo’s first outing since his excellent Mutant Robotics release in 2018, but in the months since he has continued to be a leading light in the global house and techno scene. A spellbinding performer who takes the crowd into another dimension, the Spanish based American is just as adventurous in the studio and once again casts another magical spell with this new EP.

‘When The Lights Are Out’ is a ready-made anthem that serves up a seven- minute techno trip of the highest order. It is deep and masterfully melodic, of course, with slick drums setting an inviting mid-tempo pace and the melancholic chords adding lasting emotion to the groove. A heartfelt female vocal is the centrepiece that will get hands in the air this summer and ensure this record stays firmly lodges in record boxes worldwide.

Next to an instrumental, there is a Late Night Mix that is more driving and electrifying, with glossy synths shining bright in the expansive skies above the drums.

This is the sound of a melodic techno master at work and is another landmark release for both artist and label.

In this podcast I wanted to take the listener on a journey through several stages of transformation. Using the knowledge I have gained so far from my sound healing studies, I designed this mix to evolve through the same type of phases we use to heal and transform. The stages are: Resonate, Relax, Release, Reform and Reflect. 

Sound and music is such an amazing tool to get into the deeper layers of ourselves and from here we can allow the stagnant, the old and the non-serving parts of ourselves to dissolve and transmute this into new higher vibrating patterns and frequencies. 

I've realised how much techno and music has helped me to release and let go, as well as giving me new inspiration and appreciation for life. I hope this mix will give you what you need at this moment, whether it's to relax, release, reform or reflect.
