The twenty-fourth issue of the Digital Series by Secret Keywords, the Berlin- based independent label run by Gianmarco Silvetti, has arrived.

Making his first appearance in the imprint is the Italian talent Tracy, who burst into the music scene in 2011 in conjunction with the birth of the label Sonntag Morgen, conceived and managed in collaboration with his longtime partner MTD.

Tracy began learning theory and practice in the use of DAWs as early as 2008 when he began experimenting and researching his sound. Besides on Sonntag Morgen, his music has been released on labels such as Dynamic Reflection, Concerns Music, Shout Records and last but not leas Methodical, the new creature by MTD.

Experimentation is paying off in the international scene, and his latest releases once again provide a deep and assertive sound, an experience that only a true artist can offer. ‘Epistemeʼ, this is the name of his debut EP on Secret Keywords, will draw you in with its marked and concrete rhythms while your mind will be conveyed into the mazes crafted with rhythmic noise and roomy drones. Secret Keywords is a vinyl and digital techno label based in Berlin, founded by Gianmarco Silvetti and Natascia Parisella.

Exploring new sounds is a focus for the project, where new experimental shades of techno have lead to featuring artists such as AWB, Conrad Van Orton, YYYY and Michal Jablonski.

Backlogs is one of the resident artists of the Sound Department in Italy who returns to Secret Keywords for his fourth appearance and also lists releases on Shlomi Aber's Be As One to Cleric's Projekts.

On remix duty, label boss Gianmarco Silvetti brings a new take following outings on Otomo Trax, Blackwater and Pyteca.

"Invisible" starts with harmonic chords that are sharply followed by it's jackin' beat and stabbing lead for an old-school ride. "Metropolis" is a throbbing, analogue track with a standout sax-riff making a crazy jazz-infused trip. "17" has a focus on tribal rhythms at its core and combined with an enlightening lead synth, its bursting in dance floor energy. "1998" is a rocking, groove-fuelled experience with droning chords, a bouncing bassline and vocal licks. The remix of "1998" comes from Gianmarco Silvetti spinning it into a raw and edgy remake from new, shuffling percussion.

For Respekt 164, we welcome back two of our favourite heavy-hitters: Skober and Yan Oxygen. This time working in concert to create the mesmerising 'Lost in Dreams', the Ukrainian duo have melded hints of late-90s progressive melody with a super-fresh techno undercarriage to create something quite unique. The remix comes courtesy of Belgian duo Joyhauser, who wind up the toughness and stretch out the break, before slamming us with some nasty synth blasts. To complement the lead track, Skober goes solo on the acid and vocal driven 'I Wanna See'.

Secret Keywords is a vinyl and digital techno label based in Berlin, founded by Gianmarco Silvetti and Natasha Parisella. Exploring new sounds is a focus for the project, where new experimental shades of techno have led to featuring artists such as AWB, Conrad Van Orton, Michal Jablonski and YYYY just to name a few.
The fourteenth instalment of the digital series belongs to "Relapso", DJ and producer from Portugal also the owner of the homonym Relapso Records. He has gained from the beginning the support from artists such as Mike Parker, Samuli Kemppi, Brendon Moeller, IORI and Echologist. He’s ready to introduce now “Vrion”, a five-track EP composed of three originals and two remixes, first one by label-head Gianmarco Silvetti and the other one by Wht Moth.
“Vrion”, the opening track and the one that gives the name to the EP, is characterized by a woody kick, light percussions and drums accompany the hypnotic drone for whole track length.
With “Amorph”, Relapso takes a more spaced out approach. Repetitive filtered percussions drive the listener’s mind while the kick articulates the time and the vaporous synth attends the groove in this trip.
In “Coda”, last of the originals and third in the list, we find a distorted bass line driven by a hard-hitting kick, all bonded together by a crunchy drone and spaced-out drums. 
First remix and fourth track in the list is Gianmarco Silvetti’s version of “Vrion”. This is a powerful tool to smash dancefloors. An obsessive groove, noisy drums, old-flavoured toms, logorrheic driving keyboard and revisited drone sapiently panned to move your mind inside this flashy tunnel. 
The closing track is Wht Moth’s version of “Vrion”. He takes a  more distorted approach, his remix drives inside an introspective journey, crossing a bleak and furious path inside dark ambient carpets and moduled synth.

After earlier appearances on the label, Dimitris Doukas, better known under his “Restive Plaggona” moniker, returns as his industrial oriented alias “Matriarchy Roots” on Strange Therapy. A highly engaging and confrontational project influenced by anti-patriarchy ideas and industrial music. “Changing Habits” will guide us among creepy atmospheres, sharp noises and destructive soundscapes made to question our way of thinking and our society's structures.

Where Is Your Toughness Now (No Forgiveness) finds the listener surrounded by a sense of dread and imminent doom, a collection of shrilling glimpses and brooding ambiances, distant broken memories made sound and sudden disturbances. At the end of the track added piano notes will increase the creepiness, preparing us for what will come next. More More More More (Courting Insanity) dwells in deep power electronics territory, and we will find ourselves in a bleak sea of chaos and madness. Obsessive rhythmic patterns and majestic effects impose a robust march, evoking a mechanical world inside our vicious mind. Just when you think this is it an eerie melody complete the scenario. Breasts In Sight (Demand A Choice) surprises with delicate ambient synth sounds and crystalline atmospheres in a droning course, reaching after a while a stomping movement with martial innuendos and distorted kick drums. The listener finds himself in a complex mix of emotions underlined by melancholic notes and ominous soundscapes, perhaps showing us personal facts from the author's life.  

Lifestyle (After The Rise Comes The Fall) is a rhythmic noise affair with cinematic elements and abrasive atmospheres with suspended parts and heavily manipulated vocals. A nightmarish voyage into anarchic assaults and controlled darkness reaching orchestral greatness. Monogamy Rules (Not Belonging To Anyone) uses suspense as a device showcasing broken sounds and shrilling lines, conjuring an alarming sonic world for us. The tension grows as the highly cinematic crescendo reaches an industrial climax with sci-fi qualities. Inner thoughts and ideas become a compulsive soundtrack to the demise of our preconceptions and in-built credos, leaving us with a sense of uneasiness.  The last track Masculine Norms (The Many Faces Of Manhood) drives the message home by the means of eerie soundscapes and cut-up sounds, giving us a crawling movement with sparse rhythms and soothing hidden melodies. Distant laments evoke a deeply disturbing portrait of struggle and mixed emotions.
