With grooves stemming from the amazing beaches of Muscat and Zanzibar, and drum sounds influenced heavily by American Hip-Hop and RnB, too the great electronic influences of Berlin and Bristol. The concept of his whole sound is to the merge as many different cultures and emotions. With genres consisting of house, electro, hip-hop, soul, garage, your occasional techno, and finally, rhythm and blues, all coexisting and unifying into one sound. All these key elements have really influenced Jean Jez and the music that comes along with it. Hoping that one day you will appreciate the music as much as he enjoyed making it.

"My name is Chris aka Ctrl_Alt_Dlt. I am a DJ for over 20 years, bred in Detroit with years spent in Seattle, Berlin and now Porto. This is the first mix I have made in over 8 months after a hiatus as I relocated from Berlin. A feeling of being "out of shape" plagued my creative process in the beginning but was a fantastic opportunity to get reacquainted with my gear and my collection of music and for that I am more than grateful to Yax for the invite.

Recorded on two Technic turntables, one CDJ-900 and a Master Sounds 4V rotary mixer, I stepped on the gas more than usual, aiming for a pumping mix with hypnotism and psychedelia as my north stars. Featuring tunes from Rrose, Eric Cloutier, DJ Skull, Robert Hood, Efdemin and capped off with a mind-melter by Wata Igarashi to name a few of the artists featured on this mix. I hope you enjoy".

For our eleventh episode of Secta Sessions we are happy to host long time friend and MiZa Radio curator Karam Toubba. He crafted a highly hypnotic oriented set that will take you on a cerebral techno journey.

A very active member of the music scene in Dubai since 2003, Karam Toubba developed a strong mix of musical influences far from mainstream trends & fashionable sounds. His growth of his fanbase is all thanks to his persistence in maintaining his position in boundary-less expansion with music & radical self expression on the dancefloor.

Karam's latest work with MiZa Radio has been essential to foster a sense of unity in the region's music scene, helping DJs to showcase their sound and ensuring visibility for them in the digital space. He also mentors beginning DJs & helps to support DJs who don’t own industry standard equipment to practice.

Italian based EXTEND Records is delighted to present its first release: JRD debut EP ‘Archaism’. Hailing from Antwerp (Belgium), JRD has made his own identity in the Techno scene being a respected and estabilished figure in Belgium for more than 30 years. He first unveiled his work to the public as a producer on a few compilations starting in 2021 via Token, Mindtrip and Prophet. JRD now makes his first appearance on a full-lenght EP with 4 cuts of classic techno sounds, a journey through his own signature, including a remix by no other than Conrad Van Orton. 

Starting with ‘The Search’ a track built on atmospheric shifts and a solitary bass drum that certainly sets the tone of the entire EP and opens to the dream with suspense. JRD then takes down the narrative tone notch to make space for 'Archaism'. Several drones and ambiences floating over a repetitive groove wisely administrated for an exceptional mental hypnosis. We are then gripped by an eclectic third track, 'Rude', a relentless rhytm with driving synth line perfectly arranged and plied along its run time to generate a palpable tension. Jordy then guides us to the final journey of 'Responder', an ethereal conclusion to an suspenseful adventure. To top it off, the release is provided with a remix that leaves no room for interpretations. Italian longstanding artist Conrad Van Orton turns the title track ‘Archaism' into a true peak-hour beast.

For our twentieth episode of Secta Sessions we are hosting Syrian artist Elayn. Aleppo born and now based in Berlin, he is a multidisciplinary artist, DJ and electronic music producer. Disciplined as an architect, he brings his sensibility and attention to detail to his music and art.

For him the dance floor is more than a space—it's his sanctuary where he transcends trauma and draws strength from its all-embracing inclusivity, a spirit he channels into his art and beliefs. For our twenty first episode of Secta Sessions we are hosting AMIR YAR, an Iranian DJ and Producer based in Dubai / Tbilisi. Since 2016 he's an active member of the techno scene and he's mainly focused on rhythmic and experimental sounds.

During his career in Georgia, he became very close to the Georgian underground culture by performing his sets at venues such as the legendary KHIDI club, TES club, Cafe-Gallery, BUDE Kutaisi and other venues that have increased his motivation to push for what he loves.
