BIOGRAPHY
Drum’n’Bass, Downbeat and House DJ and producer Samuel Muller aka Dj Mesh
was quickly absorbed into the burgeoning Perth drum'n'bass scene in 1995 when
he moved from Switzerland to Australia. At age 18, he started mixing funk,
hip-hop and drum'n'bass with perth drum'n'bass pioneers djs Greg Packer, B-Jam
and Krank. His first live experience behind the decks occured at the rave party
"Freedom" in 1996 soon followed by more performances in major Australian
clubs.
Back to Switzerland in 1998, he has continued mixing for clubs like Coupole,
Rocking Chair, Wasserwerk or Bikini Test, national radio Couleur3 and parties like
"black disco" at "la Case-a-chocs" in Neuchatel. The same year he met the Flying
Red Fish, who were looking for a scratch-skilled Dj for their forthcoming album
"Memoria Noctis"(1999) and their electronics live-acts. They became a major
actor of the Swiss electronic scene when playing at the Montreux Jazz Festival
with David Holmes and at Rock Oz'arenes with Asian Dub Foundation and
Prodigy.
Becoming a key member of the crew, he has been an integral part in producing
their second release "Processing..." (2002) and in remixing tracks for the US
band "All the Queen's men". Continuing on with his DJ career, he has included
Australian sessions with party-events like “The Chameleon Tour” with Ed Rush
and Optical, Tayo and Mad Professor. “Inner City” with DJ Zinc, MC Verse and
Sparfunk. "Two Tribes" with Ed Rush and Optical, at "the Globe" nightclub with
Randall and Storm and "Deckwrekka" as a headliner. He contributes now to the
Flying Red Fish's own label called "Red Steam Records".

Cup & String was an idea between two mates in 2015 who share 2 decades of friendship. What started as banter has turned into a duo producing a variety of House Music and UK garage. Coming from two very different musical backgrounds, Lukasz specialises in nu disco , and Ross is part of an international renowned drum and bass outfit. With their varied knowledge and expertise, the two have created their own sound and have charted multiple times in top 10s on Traxsource, Bp and Juno.

Since 2015 they've received support for their productions from some of the big guns of house music from the likes of Todd Terry, Grant Nelson, Miguel Migs, Little Louie Vega, Golf Clap, Kevin Yost, Saison, Richard Earnshaw + many others. The recognition doesn't stop there, in the UK Garage scene their tracks have been shown love by DJ EZ, DJ Luck & Mc Neat, The Artful Dodger, Mike Ruffcut Lloyd, Jeremy Sylvester, Mc Kie, + more, and often been regarded as Australia's best UK Garage producers. Other accolades include releasing an EP on Kevin Saunderson's Legendary KMS Records, Remixing Deekline's "Be Happy" which was picked up by Universal Music Worldwide, an EP on Chicago's "Large Music", worked with Central Station Music Australia on multiple projects plus a bunch of releases on many other labels.

Based in Perth, the most isolated city in the world, the two have been seen bouncing behind the decks entertaining punters with energetic sets in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and completed a successful tour with UK Garage Royalty The Artful Dodger & DJ Luck & Mc Neat. They have also made their way overseas playing at the Iconic Circus Tokyo multiple times and Barcode Taipei.

In 2019 the duo decided to have a break to focus on their other projects which saw Ross touring around Europe and Lukasz touring around Australia and New Zealend. Due to Covid Ross moved back to Australia mid 2020 and the duo decided it was time to get back to it and revive the project.

2021 was a great year for the Duo remixing Dr Packer's number 1 Hit "Get Some Soul" which peaked at #1 in the Deep House Top 10 on Traxsource and #3 overall and finished the year strong with 1 number #1 and 6 Top 10s landing them #47 Deep House artists for 2021. 

2022 has seen the duo continue on with their love for Deep House by launching their new Label "Sectional Recordings" which has already started to gain some traction. The duo also released an EP on Deepalma records and remixed one of their favourite artists tracks - Saison's - Dilbert's Ditty. 

With a string of exciting releases to come the duo will continue to push the boundaries of electronic music with their feet still firmly planted in the underground.
