We wrap up 2021 with this compilation of some of the biggest and best tunes from a year that saw us return to dancefloors worldwide and the club and festival scene flourish once again. 

This 21 track compilation contains 7 fresh and previously unreleased VIPs of our favourite tunes of the year, with exclusive tracks from NC-17, Black Barrel, BTK, Ben Soundscape, Survival & Script, Wreckless and Genic. Juho Kavasto and Sainey Gibba are back to remind you of their production prowess, with their first slice of new music since 2022! Having taken a bit of a welcome break from production after the release of their debut album ‘Simulations’ back in 2021, the pair return with a re-energised approach and a recognisable, yet pleasing sound palate to paint the aural canvas of 2024 anew. 

Reworking ‘Jola Dub’ taken from their aforementioned debut LP ‘Simulations’ - the VIP brings back the Gambian tribal vibes once again but this time with a more familiar, DJ friendly drum pattern. Big, chunky bass textures meet shimmering synths in an energetic collision ready to tear up your local discotheque. 

Come and partake in this re-imagining of the Gambian inspired original, not to be missed, available in all good stores from Friday the 23rd of February.

A rising talent from the heart of São Paulo, Dizrupt, returns to Dispatch following 2023’s “Rackle EP”. A key figure in the Brazilian drum and bass scene, his innovative approach to drum and bass combines his love of experimental recording techniques with a vibe-first, upfront energy that runs throughout his tracks.  

The "Barko EP" developed from a live guitar recording session and quickly took shape, taking inspiration from the resulting sounds which morphed into the unique sounds of the granular, percussive beast that is the title track. Each track on this finely textured release effortlessly blends infectious danceability with crisp, clean production for maximum impact. 

As an inspiration for the flourishing South American DNB community he continues to be top of the export list, bringing the whole scene onboard the good ship Dizrupt.

Skankandbass is dedicated towards the official promotion of record labels and artists in the world of drum & bass music. Since inception in 2009, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. Now, through Skankandbass Records we release a series of free download singles which aims to further help spread the work of the best unsigned, newcomer artists who deserve more recognition.

A name that has been on a lot of people’s radars in 2019, German talent Johann Styrow aka OaT makes his debut on Skankandbass Records.  Despite entering the world of drum & bass production only two years ago, OaT has quickly made a name for himself with his deep & brooding signature sound, facilitated by years of experience producing metal music.
