Back For More

Finished recording the song in December 2017 but I decided te re-record it and now I'm happy with it.
I started writing this song in August 2017, when I was in Portugal during the summer holidays. I had a cheap classical guitar there, that I played every day and one day, as I was playing some chords, suddenly, I could hear a vocal melody... That part would become the chorus of this song and then I tried to build the rest of the song around that idea. 
About the lyrics: We lost Chris Cornell in May 2017. His death and the way he passed away...it hurt when I heard the news. I was very moved, very shocked. I knew about his depression and his fight against his addiction. He won many battles but this last one got him and that makes me wonder: if he couldn't make it, how am I supposed to make it?! If someone with a family who loved him, with millions of fans around the World who loved him, financial security, etc..... if someone with all this wasn't able to make it....
I wrote a lot about it during that time and when I finished composing the music, I took all that I had written and put these lyrics together.

Reality

This is a very old song that I wrote in 1997 or 1998. I never really liked it because of the way it was recorded but the other day, instead of skipping it, I listened to it and realized it isn't that bad. I just finished recording this new version. Let's see if I will still like it tomorrow...

A few years ago, a band who was looking for a singer gave me a few songs for me to audition for them. I wrote some lyrics for one of those songs and came up with a vocal melody. After a couple of rehearsals, I never heard from them again. 
A few days ago, I found a copy of what I'd recorded for them. I think that it sounded really good and that it was a shame to throw it away...so I kept my lyrics and the vocal melody and wrote my own song.

Believe

I'm in Portugal right now. I brought my little digital recorder and I've been trying to use this time to write new stuff. This is the first song I came up with. I'm still not sure if I like it or if it's boring. You tell me!

This song was written a very long time ago. I usually only use drums, bass and guitar (and vocals) when I record songs but for this song, I wanted a cello.
