It's Showcase time, where Selador guarantees the joy of six. Half a dozen ultra-fresh jams from Selador debutants, a veritable feast of musical goodness, seasoned with some succulent surprises.

In the beginning there was rhythm, and that is certainly to the fore with our opener. Midnight Sun by the gizA DJs duo from Italy, fresh from excursions for the likes of Diynamic, Eklektisch and Glasgow Undergound, delivers the funkiest of intros, teasing you all the way to a euphoric guitar drop. A brilliantly original opening salvo.

Second on the grid it's Sam Hopgood (most recently releasing on Nick Warren's Soundgarden imprint) with Waiting. The wait for his Selador debut is over as this native of one of our favourite cities, Melbourne, hits bullseye with an infectious number that subtly builds from dreamy to dramatic over the course of a spellbinding seven minutes.

Three is, of course, the magic number, and here we find Agustin Giri, a consistent presence in the melodic and progressive charts that count. Hailing from one of electronic music's nerve centres, Argentina, Nitt features one of the most insistent riffs we've heard in aeons, this electronic earworm riding a bed of the crispest beats.

Opening side two (in our minds, we picture a 12" record), we find Kate Ozz. As befits a globetrotting label like Selador, Kate originates from Moscow but is currently based in Miami. Birds of Paradise is an unavoidable peak time banger which is another contender for hypnotic riff of the year.

Taking the fifth, we present Paul Sparkes, Brit with a truly global CV. Here at Selador HQ, we can never get enough wonkiness, so when Paul delivered Hour of Wonk, we knew we had a winner. Alas it is 6 minutes rather than 60, but that time is packed full of truly righteous, uplifting sounds

Completing our 6-0 dancefloor demolition is the sensuous Hopeless Cause from one of Spain's fastest rising stars, Grezzer. A galloping bassline kicks us off, with ever more mesmerising synth sounds and a haunting vocal hook.

Greece and Russia join forces in a new movement through the Balkans where Tash and Mango find a "Lost" musical world. Elemental basslines pulsate through the earth's magnetic fields as hypnotic rhythms guide and control lustrous textures. Cascading arpeggios rise and fall to build new sonic patterns and subtle melodic phrasing finds its place. Rising from the Baltic coast, Rauschhaus returns with ice cool melody and reimagined intrigue. Entwined motifs are Lost' within each other in smooth melancholy and haunting vocal refrain. Clubland rhythms find their mark through snare rolls and powerfully pitched drop in a new mesmerising interpretation.

Diverse musical backgrounds combine within cosmopolitan Buenos Aries where childhood's end brought shared synthesised dreams. Oliver and Tom find a new lost' memory that floats through a haze of shimmering pads, analogue lines and subtle pulsing waves. Motifs shine and chord progressions provide a new hope among familiar bassline presence. Meanwhile, a lost Roman settlement sits on the Iberian Peninsula where Kyotto defines a new vision across the Atlantic Ocean. Resonant bass force rumbles under heavy beat and raw energy. Light melodies float across the bay in perfect juxtaposition where familiar patterns echo within a new voyage of discovery and new vocal phrasing creates an understated shift in emphasis.

Juicebox Music's celebratory 50th release sees the return of our label mainstay Indian artists - Aman Anand & Praveen Achary joining forces to create this debut collaborative single titled - 'Fiasco'. Currently residing in Singapore, Aman Anand's catalogue boasts of accomplishments, with releases on Hernan Cattaneo's "Sudbeat", Mango's "Mango Alley" & Paul Hazendonk's "Manual" to name a few. His sets have captivated listeners all around the world and was recently named as one of the '5 Emerging House Producers in Singapore to Discover' by Mixmag Asia. Juicebox Music label owner and Bangalore-based artist - Praveen Achary's body of work spans over a decade, highlighted by his music on Mitch Alexander's "microCastle", Cid Inc's "Replug", an official remix for Above and Beyond on their 'We Are All We Need' album release for India and a vinyl-release on Slow Crime's "Spaghetti Monster". His touring schedule has seen him perform at major festivals in India - Vh1 Supersonic, Sunburn, Electric Daisy Carnival as well as international gigs in Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Nepal & Malaysia.

When collaborating together for 'Fiasco' both Aman Anand & Praveen Achary had a similar idea they wanted to convey - "A fiasco happens when a plan crumbles & collapses after a series of unfortunate events. People, society & parts of the world experience these moments at some point in time. The chaos, the uncertainty, the lack of luck on your side can all be part of the reason. That being said, it's how one gets back up from all these troubled stages and works towards executing better decisions going forward, making small & big changes, around you and within yourself, in whatever capacity you can." The Indian duo decided to express this state of organised chaos through 'Fiasco' with a chunky groove filled with twisted effects & accentuated by a captivating wonky synth.
