onedotsixtwo once again heads back to Argentina and proudly presents Ivan Aliaga with four stunning originals that defy the young Cordoban’s mere twenty one years on this earth. Ivan has already made quite a mark on the scene with releases and remix credits for labels such as The Soundgarden, Manual Music, Bonzai Progressive, Droid9 and many more, plus he also recently made his onedotsixtwo debut with his track ‘Mysterious Stranger’ featuring on our V/A compilation ‘Electrique Boutique, compiled and mixed by Steve Marx. Label boss Tripswitch rounds off this dazzling EP with a remix of the title track. 

Opening with ‘Delta Wing’, an epic euphoric journey of a track that drives like a train and soars like an eagle. Next up is ‘Aquaria’, an altogether more heads down affair to start, which opens up into a glorious crescendo full of intrigue and mystery. ‘Caroline’ follows with its beautifully playful and catchy topline synth and haunting vocal layers. Last but not least from the four originals is Seagull, a brooding beast of a track that is guaranteed to tear the roof off. Finally, Tripswitch takes on the title track ‘Delta Wing’ and creates a sensational blissed out version full of warm reverberated modular elements and synths.

Droid9 Sessions 017 - Kenan Savrun

Since launching Selador with compadre and fellow denizen of the decks Steve Parry back in 2013, Dave Seaman has been on one of the most prolific production runs of his long and storied career. Tunes like ‘Hired State of Unconsciousness’, ‘Thonk’ and ‘Donkey Engine’ have not only destroyed dancefloors (both real and virtual) but have also led to a stellar band of top draw producers being only too keen to dig out the disco scissors and remix Dave’s output. Which brings us neatly to Selected Reworks, a collection of three brand new re-rubs, all with the quality control knob turned firmly up to 11.

Buzzfuzzle – Luke Brancaccio & Gai Barone remix
If Dave’s original version of this no-nonsense piledriver had a distinct flavour of vintage 1987 Trax Records Chicago, the dream team of Luke & Gui take initial inspiration from a year later – yes, there is more than a whiff of 1988 meets 2021 in their acidic workout. Like the original, this is a heads down, let’s go, peak-time corker.

Racket Abuse – Charles Webster remix
Next up, time to roll out the red carpet for house music royalty in the shape of Charles Webster, who in his ever-unique style delivers a psychedelic electro gem which may well tempt Dave to get his lino out for a quick pop & lock session just for old times sake. A tripped out genius of a mix that makes maximum use of the original version’s mind-bending vocal hook and is set to wreak havoc on discerning dancefloors.

Rodales – Damon Jee’s Light remix
Fresh from his appearance on Dave’s recent vinyl release for Selador, Damon Jee brings us a second take on Dave’s hypnotic contribution to the second 3D EP, ‘Rodales’. Needless to say, he hits bullseye yet again with this Moroder-esque slab of 21st century disco exotica.

It's Showcase time, where Selador guarantees the joy of six. Half a dozen ultra-fresh jams from Selador debutants, a veritable feast of musical goodness, seasoned with some succulent surprises.

In the beginning there was rhythm, and that is certainly to the fore with our opener. Midnight Sun by the gizA DJs duo from Italy, fresh from excursions for the likes of Diynamic, Eklektisch and Glasgow Undergound, delivers the funkiest of intros, teasing you all the way to a euphoric guitar drop. A brilliantly original opening salvo.

Second on the grid it's Sam Hopgood (most recently releasing on Nick Warren's Soundgarden imprint) with Waiting. The wait for his Selador debut is over as this native of one of our favourite cities, Melbourne, hits bullseye with an infectious number that subtly builds from dreamy to dramatic over the course of a spellbinding seven minutes.

Three is, of course, the magic number, and here we find Agustin Giri, a consistent presence in the melodic and progressive charts that count. Hailing from one of electronic music's nerve centres, Argentina, Nitt features one of the most insistent riffs we've heard in aeons, this electronic earworm riding a bed of the crispest beats.

Opening side two (in our minds, we picture a 12" record), we find Kate Ozz. As befits a globetrotting label like Selador, Kate originates from Moscow but is currently based in Miami. Birds of Paradise is an unavoidable peak time banger which is another contender for hypnotic riff of the year.

Taking the fifth, we present Paul Sparkes, Brit with a truly global CV. Here at Selador HQ, we can never get enough wonkiness, so when Paul delivered Hour of Wonk, we knew we had a winner. Alas it is 6 minutes rather than 60, but that time is packed full of truly righteous, uplifting sounds

Completing our 6-0 dancefloor demolition is the sensuous Hopeless Cause from one of Spain's fastest rising stars, Grezzer. A galloping bassline kicks us off, with ever more mesmerising synth sounds and a haunting vocal hook.
