As Selador reaches it’s 3rd birthday, co-founder Steve Parry makes his artist debut for the label with a track that’s set to elevate his status to the next level. 

Following up the recent success of his massive ‘Flippant’ track on Bedrock should not have been an easy task but Steve has effortlessly created another accomplished peak time anthem that has already sent tongues-a-wagging amongst the lucky few who’ve managed to get their hands on a copy. 

Whereas ‘Flippant’ was most definitely an ode to his love of authentic acid house, ‘Apricity’ shows off his melodic side with it’s arptastic lead synth doing most of the damage atop a pulsating bass and roof raising arrangement. 

On the remix front, Brazilian Techno Maestro, Victor Ruiz, Portuguese Tech House grandee, Joal and the latest house music poster boys, Ki Creighton & Makanan all out-do themselves making for a package so fierce, it registers on the richter scale.

With their new compilation EP, the Berlin-based label Burlesque Musique not only underscores their status as a hedonistic home for harmony and melody-driven tracks – the four new tracks give an outlook what can be expected by AKA AKA and their friends in the near future. Not only old acquaintances are bustled, but also new talents appear that the label pulled out of the hat pretty naturally. 

The Italian producer Giorgia Angiuli was not only part of the „We Love“ project of BPitch Control, as a resident DJ for Florentine Tenax Club 1.0 she knows the ingredients of a good track. Her „Magic Circle“ revolves with simmering synths at the beginning, which fascinate from the very first second. Her manipulated voice in combination with an inimitable tech house groove sprays an airy magic that reflects her live passion with keyboards and many other toys pretty good. After their impressive „Somebody EP“, the duo Kyrill & Redford return with a new jewel: „Pussy Truck“ lives from both a feisty percussion that drives the piece forward as well as a subtle bass line that perform a seductive mating dance. The prayer-like vocals constitute a powerful ritual addressing desire, love and hope. After releases on Stil vor Talent and Circat, the Berlin-based Erich Lesovsky debuts with his track „Weirdo“ on Burlesque Musique. With contributed vocals by singer Rita, the DJ and producer discusses the ambivalence of our heart, because everybody knows: emotions can by very contradictory from time to time. However, because of the deep character „Weirdo“ symbolizes thoughtfulness at a very high level. The Dutchman Formel integrates not only field recordings with children’s voices; „Jaipur“ is a true gem consisting of claps, bass and dreamy piano chords. All killer, no filler!

Incroyable label mates Bellville and Fabio Montana joint forces for the first time and come up with a massive and innovative club sound in the form of their Time Machine EP. It features one great single and two remixes from Third Son and Hush & Sleep. 

The original is nearly seven minutes of serene and slow building house. Rolling rubber drums underpin poised and epic chords. Whirring sounds add a feeling of flight to the airy groove and soft melodies help carry you away. 

UK based and highly recommended Third Son transforms 'Time Machine' in a remix that is truly standout. His version is much more driving and dramatic, with spraying synths and chugging drums making for a marching groove that is urgent and essential. Lastly, Hush & Sleep's remix of 'Time Machine' catches the melody and runs with it to a much darker, more paranoid place. 

All three cuts here are well crafted for maximum impact on the ‘floor and make for another fine release on Incroyable Music.

Third Son’s Form/Void EP materializes itself in the form of four original tracks with Teenage Mutants on remix duties.

The title track makes for a swift introduction into the EP’s overall mood, setting an enthusiastic and uplifting tone by way of aphasic percussion patterns and beaming synths. Instead of conglomerating elements at peak point, the British producer builds up anticipation by temporarily suspending them, intensifying the post breakdown release. Prospara is a dub-centered track with tribalesque hitting drums and patterns interspersed with hi hats and glitches. The multitude of layers increases exponentially throughout the track, while their versatility crafts a profound sense of space.Emerging from a solid and grave bassline speckled with high pitched synth cuts, Alaska frames a colder and darker atmosphere. The artist masterfully uses synth chords to assemble a recurring ascending groove that ultimately leads to a soft release.

Teenage Mutants puts on his remix hat and spins Alaska’s cold gloom into a spiralling and enthralling sonic trip with great club appeal. The final offering of Third Son’s sonic compound - Kepler Reprise - is the only track where the human element is made present, through the ghostly vocal sample. The track flows naturally as a wavy sound exploration that is at the same time down to earth and otherworldly, thanks to escalating and zippy synths.

In just a few years’ time, Berlin’s Upon You has established itself as a leading figure in European club culture, 
not just as a label for its 35+ well received 12” EPs, but also for its curated nights at world-renowned spots like 
Berghain and Arena Club. With their combined experience of producing, DJing and promoting, company 
founders Marco Resmann, Marcus Meinhardt and Hawks Grunert have formed a powerhouse whose 
momentum shows no signs of slowing down. In spite of (and perhaps because of) its unpigeonholeable stylistic 
approach, Upon You has become a respected source for all DJs and clubbers in search of forward-thinking 
sounds, and now with its first full-length compilation, the label offers a succinct overview for both followers and 
newcomers. 
Upon You Diary No. 1 has been compiled by Marco Resmann (half of Luna City Express) and is split into two 
parts: the first features 13 new, exclusive tracks from the label’s roster including The Cheapers, Re-UP, ONNO 
and Mathias Mesteño. The second part, showcasing Resmann’s dynamic DJ ability, is meticulously stitched 
together using elements of 25 tracks from Upon You’s back catalog, including contributions by Holger Zilske,

On the surface, the artists on Diary No. 1 clearly follow the tradition of techno and house music, but it’s clear

attitudes, and in fact, cross-pollination is encouraged: check Channel X’s be-bop hoedown “Rodeo” and the

Diary serves as both an up-to-date survey of Upon You in 2010 as well as a reflection on its origins, with the 
knowledge that there are many blank pages to be filled out as we push forward into the future of dance music.
