For Montreal-native Leveq, it’s all about the journey. Whether it’s the wandering groove of a bassline, the storied pilgrimage of his DJ sets, or a tangible exploration of cities around the world, Marc’s inspirations and mission are one and the same: movement. An early love of music and an immersion his hometown’s electronic music community geared him from the dancefloor to the decks in 2011, developing his own personal brand of minimal and techno that reaches elements of house, dub, and deep, tripped-out vibrations. Continually energized by the creative culture in his native city, Marc is quickly making a name for himself among the city’s local heroes, collaborating with and playing at events like Blackbox and Grey Area, and underground venues like the StereoBar, Le Salon Daomé, Bar Passeport, Inspecteur Epingle, and St. Laurent mainstay Laika, where he played regularly. It is in nature, though, that he finds his steadiest groove, if his recent gigs at outdoor festivals like Solstice and Landscapes in Northern Ontario are any indication, his own journey is only just beginning.
