The World Is a Barrio is a mix of Afro-Latin music and it's influences to the world.  Barrio is a Spanish word that is equivalent to the ghetto or neighborhood . The Barrios and its sounds from Puerto Rico to NYC, from Cuba to New Orleans and many more have inspired the world. This MixTape cover uses Tahleim's baby picture from his baptism which has his parents and Godparents in it.. His godfather is the legendary salsa pianist Mark "Markolino" Dimond. Markolino's song "El Barrio" is featured on this mix along with "A Change Had Better Come" by The Alexander Review which is a group that includes Mark Dimond & Alex Reyes Jr. (DJ Tahleim's Father). London’s very own Spin Doctor has been a busy boy while in Lockdown. He has created this epic mix dedicated to the powerhouse that is Q-Tip. Using 50 tracks to mark The Abstract’s 50th Birthday on Friday 10th April 2020.
 
The mix combinies a bunch of Tip’s productions, verses, samples, interviews and more. From A Tribe Called Quest to Solange, Nas to Quincey Jones, the mix explores all aspects of this man’s genius.
 
There are very few artists that can claim such impact on an entire genre, but A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip can do just that and more. As a member of what is widely agreed to be the greatest Hip-Hop group of all time, as a solo artist and as a producer for the great and the good, Q-Tip’s impact is immeasurable. Through his influence on the likes of J-Dilla, Kanye West and Pharrell, his influence can still be heard throughout all forms of Hip-Hop and Soul. Keep Bouncing!

I don’t know if I have EVER played a deejay set that didn’t feature at least a few songs from The Soulquarians (The Roots, D’Angelo, Common, Erykah, Dilla, etc).

During this quarantine, I really found myself digging into the (digital) crates for more exclusive and interesting versions of these songs.

Low and behold, I had a LOT of dope sh*t in my computer… especially the D’Angelo remixes.

In honor of his amazing VERZUZ performance at The Apollo,  I decided to put together a little set for you.
