Diverting to '93 briefly with a mish-mash of personals. This mix was largely driven by my dear love of that kind of split-personality production you'd get around this time (I'm thinking Life Can Begin, Bass Go Boom, When You Hold Me, Don Of Babylon): diva vocals, chipmunks, jungle breaks, britcore and reggae samples, rave stabs and synths all jostling in the mix. Carnage. So darn good. Plenty of heavily-caned dancefloor tracks too from DJ Edge, Orca, Tango, Gappa G/Hyper Hypa and Fast Floor, and a special mention for Double Xposure's Ultracore which I've been sat on for a while. Ohhhhhhhhh Vienna!!!

A rare evening upload from me - work is going to suck again tomorrow, and I want to get this one out there and in your king lears. Following on from volume 13 - don't question my methods - this is a slightly more obscure selection of pure '92 loveliness. Several all-time favourites from my cherished DJ Ace and Sublove tapes, and a bunch of other cool stuff, all carefully sculpted in ableton live. Watch out for the ridiculously-good 'Esoterics' from Body Snatch. Jesus that dude was so far ahead of his time. The little-known and oddly-titled 'Num Yo Ho' from Lauren Aulder also needs a mention, genius atmospherics rolling along with the 'Hip This House' break, it's only like 30 years I've been wanting to include it in a set. The reliably insane Nebula II pop up with a track dropped by Aphex Twin in Bristol recently. Final mention goes to Konspiracy (a.k.a. the legendary MC Duke) for sampling Phil Collins, typically strong move. This is the last of this AOARK mini-run, but rest assured they will be back some day. Home of my own mixes - predominantly jungle/hardcore with the odd bit of D&B, plus eclectic sample-digging, breaks and hip-hop, techno & electronica. 

Pre-2001, all mixes vinyl; Post-2016, all mixes digital (DJay 2); Post-2018, Ableton Live. Why? Why not?
I've got an old skool DJ's mentality, early influences ranging from Sublove, Ratty, Randall & Hype to Coldcut, DJ Juice, MK & Primo.  In the early 00s I turned my back on D&B, retired my turntables in favour of family/work commitments, and got into funk, soul, reggae and so on... a lot of this driven by curiosity around the sample roots of hardcore and jungle.  Forward another decade and an early mid-life crisis saw me messing around with virtual decks on my phone, and later acquiring a vinyl ripper, with one vision in mind: making mixes.
Although I'm partial to the odd DJay or vinyl mix when I get the chance, the progression into Ableton Live was a simple means to an end.  My ideas stretch further than the limitations of my physical collection and real-time mixing, and by sequencing I can pick, choose, chip away and structure mixes at my leisure. Which I do... a lot :)

Wait, there's more ... an absolute stack of classic golden era/old skool hip-hop/turntablism, jungle and d&b, hardcore, techno and house mixes retrieved from my dusty tape & CD archives.  This includes (by my reckoning) the most exhaustive collections of classic Full Cycle and Sublove Galaxy Radio shows, live Ruffneck Ting jungle tapes, loads of studio & compilation mixes, all manner of rave tapes, and so on.
