"For all my life, ive always pursued the ability to control sound. I feel like certain sounds remind me of different times in my life and the sensitive weight those emotions carry. I can see it in my head and my anxiety is heard in the moment. I can acknowledge it. I would draw under my desk in class obsessively to cope with my inability to communicate my thoughts and feelings to others. I feel like visualizing how I feel has always helped me. But merely seeing what i feel isnt enough--i need to hear it. Piano gave me the opportunity to see all the available sounds within a large range of notes that I could pick from. 

But that wasnt enough for me. Everytime i would see people play other instruments, I felt like i could relate to them in the moment. Rock made me feel the vibrations under the strings of a guitar and the energy rattling the knuckles of a drummer who just hit the snare. Indie music made me appreciate reverb and great vocals. Electronic music was an entrance to a whole different world that many people i felt were scared to enter. I realized that i could play each instrument through drum pads, synthesizers, sampling and meticulous organization and create modern day symphonies in a space that has yet to be fully discovered."
