Sam Astbury is the founder of UK based record label X-Kalay, which he started around 5 years ago in south London. The label aims to provide a platform for emerging talents across the broad spectrum of underground dance music without being constrained by style or geographic location. As a DJ, Sam leans towards the faster end of house music taking influence from the techy UK styles of the late 90's and early 2000's. This latest mix adds a proggy edge and consists of solely new music, plus a few upcoming tracks from the label.

Diane is a trans activist, visual artist, filmmaker and musical traveller. She embraced the mix when the after party collective „RoueLibre“ was created. She is one of the main architects and continues to keep the idea of the free party alive in  Paris  via this collective which strives to make events on a human scale and accessible to all.

This is a film without images about the last six months of my transition. 

It is a collage of images collected from a documentary I started and film soundtracks that accompany my hormonal emotions. It is a radical cry from my inner self that seeks calm, appeasement and self-abandonment in a landscape of sound and music.

The sensory becomes intelligibility.

C’est un film sans image sur les six derniers mois de l’évolution de ma transition. 

C’est un collage d’images collecté d’un documentaire que j’ai commencé et de bande son de films qui accompagne mes émotions hormonales. C’est un cri radical de mon intérieur qui cherche le calme, l’apaisement et l’abandon de soi dans des paysage sonore et musical.

Le sensoriel devient l’intelligibilité.

Idit is firstly an impassioned Dj, music journalist and radio host from Tel Aviv who has been one of the key figures on the Tel Aviv and Israel's music scene and night life since many years now with residencies in  clubs like Breakfast club and also running the Later parties during the most part of 2010's where i (Life Recorder) had the pleasure to play and had one of my best gig, joining a guest list of so much great artists and music family ... 
Honored  to feel Idit support for the label since the beginning and natural to have her now for this guest mix which will show you how such fine and experienced DJ and selector she is. Thank you for the trip Idit !

For our next chug fwen we introduce Roya, local favourite and one of the heads behind Leeds’ new alternative event space The Imaginarium. The Imaginarium is a particularly special venue - a symbol of the re-emerging underground scene post covid. These local intimate settings (Wharf Chambers, Outlaws Yacht Club, The Imaginarium to name only a few) are beloved places for the music, art and cultures we love. Cherished spaces at a time of need providing community and belonging for those that need it.

Aside from this Roya is a super talented DJ in her own right. She’s played Holistic Missile and Beatherder as well as the legendary Golden Lion in Todmorden. Locally Roya has played all over, but you can catch her regularly on Narr Radio. Roya is another beloved member of our amazing local scene and we are honoured to add to the series with this mix from her xx

This episode of OST is a 2 hour double bill of John Carpenter's legendary gritty action sci-fi's: Escape From New York (1981) AND Escape From L.A. (1996)!

As is customary in the OST show, your host Nadia 'Call Me Snake' Wise will be narrating these movies, using(mostly obscure 80s) records from her collection! Also featured will be dialogue audio clips from the movies themselves, as well as the usual live MCing over the records to explain the plot, the significance of the tracks, and the music itself! You can expect songs about snakes, New York, time, fighting, earthquakes, plastic surgery, basketball and more...!
