Selectors will be doing several premieres this week - starting off with this groover from Ben Hauke's latest EP "Save The Date" dropping this Friday on Last Year At Marienbad!

As we stumble into 2023, Oath sub label Last Year At Marienbad stand tall with this wondrous new mini-album from the multi-faceted and talented Ben Hauke, with a collection of tracks that make the head turn and the soul yearn.

It only makes sense for Hauke to release his latest masterclass via the one and only Last Year In Marienbad, which has blessed us with two excellent records from Retromigration and Jesse Bru thus far, with ‘Save The Date’ acting as yet another impressive step forward for both the imprint and Hauke. The record is, as always, seeped in dynamic boundary defying moods and breezy, steppin grooves, moving easily from club floors through to sun kissed walks and deep hued evenings. There’s the broken beat masterclasses in the form of ‘Make Up Break Up Bench’ and ‘Let’s Move On Bro’, both of which contain swings that could move mountains and a sombre yet uplifting top layer of keys and flutes which really tie into that sampled feel we know and adore Hauke for. Then there’s the upbeat house numbers, and they really are something - from the fast talking ‘Watch Me Now’, with its gorgeous filtered melodic lines and evocative vocal elements, through to the 90s leaning ‘Forever Me’ with its electronic Sax taking centre stage as we welcome the morning light, through to the title track and its driving wobbles and emphatic piano lines, there is much to be said about the spaces that can be inhabited within and around these tracks. There’s even time for a break half way through, with the sub-1 minute ‘First Snow’ showcasing Hauke’s love of Hip Hop , and within a sea of energised grooves its joyous to be provided with a differing side to the story, a recharge if you will.

Ben Hauke has really harnessed a particular something during his career to date, and it is no surprise that he continues to push out top quality recordings that feel very much in his own image, and for us ‘Save The Date’ feels like his most complete and accomplished release to date, and that is saying something when compared to the quality he has provided us with before. Heart inducing, pulse setting, all bound within a easy going atmosphere that washes away the fears and sets the mind on a brighter path - a path we are so very willing to traverse. So why not take a gander and be whisked away on a sea of only the finest House laden Vibrations - Mr Hauke has you covered…..

Felipe Gordon sin lugar a duda no ha sido en vano uno de los productores más prolíficos de los últimos años en la capital. Luego de tocar en algunos de los festivales más respetados de la región con algunos de sus anteriores proyectos. Felipe se ha dedico durante los últimos años a viajar por el tiempo, reconstruyendo universos sonoros y produciendo tracks alrededor de la música electrónica.

Luego de Caracas; ep que lanzo con Nein Records y de Mosaico Andino que lanzó bajo el sello Forbidden Cuts. Gordon decide presentar junto con Nómada Records: Sample Colossus. There is no doubt Felipe Gordon is one of the most prolific producers of the Colombian capital. After playing in some major festivales in the region with his side projects, Felipe has dedicated his latest years to travel through time, to rebuild resonant universes and producing tracks around electronic music.

After El Caracas Ep which was released by Nein Records, and Mosaico Andino from Forbidden Cuts label. Gordon chooses to release through Nomada Records: Sample Colossus, an album which build itself in a meticolous manner with elements from Jazz, Funk and a variety of african sounds, transforming it in fresh and hazardous tracks, also holding 2 international remixers; Monomite from France and Hotmood from México.

Gin Tonic Orchestra, a brand new band out of St. Etienne (France), deliver the second release on Mother Tongue records.

The brainchild of keyboard player and producer Victor Dijoud - also known as Kaffe Crème - and drummer Leo Puccio, alongside multiple collaborators both in their studio and stage incarnations, Gin Tonic Orchestra is a collective of young talents, gathering their musical inspiration from future jazz, broken beat and latin vibes.

The Stefania EP - a tribute to their native city - is the band’s debut recording showcasing compositions such as “Hands On The Drums”, a driven yet subtle soulful track coloured with jazzy cymbals and lush harmonies and “Get A Umbaye”, where Afro-latin grooves are juxtaposed against elements of funk and ethereal flute solos, reminiscent of the London and New York acid jazz era.

UK legendary keyboard player and producer Kaidi Tatham appears on track two of side A with a stunning remix of “Hands On The Drums” mixed by none other than Eric Lau, giving the track a new life with a heavy broken beat feel, filled with syncopated riffs and intricate synth solos.
