His mind now belonged to the hypnotist and there was no way back. It was quite a skill to be able to hypnotise someone in such a fashion, to encourage their inhibitions to leave their body and fly wild with the wind. This was no magic trick or a play on words but a full blown takeover of mind and soul.

CoOp Presents an all-new double-album compilation entitled ‘Plug One’. It features a plethora of
global talent from in & around the world of broken beat and beyond - some already well-established in
the field, some very much on the come-up and some brand new artists, this compilation is an
acknowledgment of a continually evolving sound from the label formed by IG Culture & Alex Phountzi
a few years ago. ‘Plug One’ affirms this electric movement, with a deeply fluid current running
throughout, with tracks ranging from the cosmic psych jazz of LCSM, to the classic UKG tweaks of
Groove Chronicles, to a veritable who’s who of 2020 bruk talent.
Following on from the recent single ‘400 Years’ by Reginald Omas Mamode IV, which had love from
Gilles Peterson (BBC 6 Music), XLR8R, Earmilk and on Spotify’s Butter & State Of Jazz playlists
respectively, we give you another taste of what’s to come.
Single two comes courtesy of NameBrandSound aka CoOp Presents label founders, IG Culture and
Alex Phountzi, inviting in the soulful vocals of Aleisha Lee to join them on the firing ‘Home Demo’.
NameBrandSound produce more of their classic heavyweight bruk, whilst Aleisha’s vocals ensure that
this one is nicely balanced between the rough and the smooth.
The single also includes a remix from upcoming talent Risa T who flips the track in a sweet UKG style &
pattern, and a further collaboration with her & 50% of NameBrandSound, Alex Phountzi on the track
‘Rotations’ (both tracks appearing on this digital single only), a slightly deeper affair with an ethereal
piano hook, and subtle guitar licks & synth stabs - Deep Bruk business! Risa T is a Tokyo-born,
London-based producer, who nurtured her music roots through years of classical training from a young
age. In recent times, she has released tracks & remixes for Da Lata, Summer Dance Forever and now
CoOp Presents.
‘Home Demo’ is released on October 16th digitally whilst the album compilation ‘Plug One’ is out on
double vinyl album & digital on November 13th.

Layered up sweet, sultry, soulful vocals provided by Kennedy John Charles, receive a royally ordained Bruk revamp from man of the moment EVM128 (CoOp/Selector’s Assemble)... A neat fit for Broken beat and house heads DJs, plus dancers.

Kennedy and EVM first met at the Boiler Room CoOp Special back in 2016 and they spoke, Kenedy said he wants EVM to do a mix for him one day, EVM said yeah bring it come, and so it happened, albeit 5 years later! But you know what they say, good things come to those who wait!

The Original track in question is called FUN , a naughty sexy house track primed at the dancefloor. It features the vocals and songwriting of Kennedy who has always been around music through his family and soundsystem culture and has previously worked with Steve Nichols (Loose Ends) among others. 

Kennedy said it was a dream to get EVM in the mix on this track as he wanted it to connect with the Broken Beat movement having been following the scene for many years as a dancer. They both share a passion in pushing this UK heritage sound of Broken Beat also known as 'Bruk" 

The remix is a sticky House tune with a Bruk twist. EVM is alumni of CoOp Presents, a label and club night run by IG Culture and Alex Phountzi. This one is for those basement sessions... big speakers, a red light and a whole load of fun !
