That people deserve more from a very well-thought-out list
Going back to the 1940’s when Blacks got recruited
From the South to work shipyards
And the moment the war was over those families at-large
Learned quick they couldn’t get jobs
When you’re forced to reconcile this with God
You form a righteous mob against those in charge
And learn game from the rich, who commit fraud
That’s why you can visit Frisco and get robbed
On good principle...with liberal policy’s locked in place,
When the Navy tried to hide dumping toxic waste,
Where the city built parks like spots was safe,
Compensation’s not up for debate when you got a case.
And receipts that corroborate
How modern-day lawmakers operate
Even tho money talks they can’t stop the violence
Cuz transplants get paid to keep the block silent.
It won’t matter til you feel Black lives
Fillmore to Hunter’s Point, the Hills Have Eyes
And ears that guide real boots on the ground
With every reason to backslide and burn shit down.
If you understood what I just said 
You’d invest and less people would end up dead
Zumbi said "Don’t lose your head"
I say "Don’t take this as a threat and you won’t lose your cred
As a leader of the people who need to feel equally

To let African Americans enter and set stages?
In a town renowned for Black entertainers
Artists need grant writers just to have living wages.
If you can spend money to see Hamilton
Go see Rico stand in front of the camera lens.
And hear stories from Elmo, Creature Man and 'em
About Lonnie Green becoming the People’s Champion.
From The Fillmoe Kid to Majeid
And SF Black Wall Street we building a bridge.
Because too many folks now dying with information.
If nobody cares, this is a dire situation.
Hip Hop went viral for innovation
But Hollywood skipped this entire interpretation.
We got so many files of inspiration
We shouldn’t be facin more trials and tribulation.
So I have to ask: Why is there hesitation 
To hire us after you acquire this information?
Is it racism, entitlement, reservation
If London Breed says to fight for this preservation?
Or is it just the environment of a nation's politics?
Why not inviting us in to change them?
Cuz some of us are born Rebels By Law
To level playing fields and catch a Devil’s fly ball
From the court to school boards, when ghetto lives call
For action only some can level the high walls.
So if this is the first time you’ve heard this ask "Why?"
We just scratching the surface, that’s why.
The South Bronx/Harlem of the West is that fly.
But you wouldn’t know it looking in from the outside.
You just see the effect of Black pride capsized,
And people chastised by the city’s gas lights.
You don’t seem to catch why decades of bad vibes
Hold the depth of the Black lives that survived.
Don’t tell us to act right if you a police officer
The wrong way, or you can meet repeat offenders.
Disrespecting the streets will leave officers
Egos beat and legal-speak at a loss for words.
Real G’s know which laws come first.
Getting them out of order’ll get your pockets searched.
