My name is Mahlatse Mokgawa, also known as Black Op. I am a hip hop artist whose inspiration is drawn from RNB; music that was played willfully by the women in my life who never shied from playing jagged edge and others on Sunday afternoons and gatherings. I was also influenced by music that pressed too harshly against their ears because it was so contemporary. These influences include artists like Lil Wayne, Kendrick, Ab Soul, Mac Miler, Khuli Chana and others.  I was born and raised in Naledi, Soweto. In a place named after stars, I have no choice but to stand out like one. This is why I am working on enhancing my music, extending my reach across South Africa and the globe by releasing quality music regularly through various platforms.
