j a r v i s l a i n is the main vessel. The rest? Echoes, layers, shadows.

Born out of a digital fever dream somewhere between Iron Man’s AI assistant and Serial Experiments Lain, j a r v i s l a i n is what happens when a restless soul with too many tabs open decides to turn feeling into sound. Think of it as beyond-genre—not because it tries to be, but because it can’t help it.

Behind the alias is Vincent—French-born, Lisbon-based, a bit of a ghost in the machine. Musician, producer, singer, designer, and the kind of person who actually plays traditional Chinese flutes unironically. He’s studied jazz, blown sax in countless bands, and built entire audio worlds with little more than a Kaoss Pad and insomnia. Some called it Gufftmachine.

The first whisper came in 2007 with Pandora. Since then, the journey has never really followed a map. There’ve been side quests—Moderator, the label he helmed like a pirate ship; 20V100, the umbrella name for his design-led incursions; mdrt., a modular, ever-shifting collective of collaborators.

But j a r v i s l a i n remains the thread. The story. The soundtrack to a nomadic life spent patching together code, identity, and late-night feelings across cities and servers.

The latest drop, Sozinho, came out in late 2023. Born from Lisbon’s slow sadness and the beautiful ache of wandering too long, it’s a short-format project preluding something deeper, darker, and maybe a little more hopeful.
