Welcome to our brand new venture, In The Mix.

With so much great music around we thought it was time to offer a new showcase where we could spread only the best music far and wide. To help us along we will be recruiting some top DJ’s to deliver the goodness. We are proud to announce our very first In The Mix – 001, from none other than one of the most inspiring and gifted artist’s of our time, Airwave. When we think of an artist who has remained fully committed to the true origins of musical interpretation then this guy’s name is always one of the first to crop up. His latest incarnation, A Touch Of Grace is riding high on popular charts and is seeing a lot of playlist time across the world. Resident talent Dezza released "Meekix" on our parent label back in September 2014. Nearly a year later, we are thrilled to present two inspired new interpretations of the Canadian phenom's uplifting classic, courtesy of two internationally acclaimed talents in their own right: LTN & Robert Nickson.

LTN, an exceedingly versatile musician, kicks off the release with one of his deepest (and most elegant) compositions to date. A gentle, deep groove and moody soundscape create an ominous aura in the early going. Gorgeous atmospheric textures and vivid melodic themes begin to emerge: a stunning synthesis of electronic and orchestral sounds. In the breakdown, goosebumps are induced by a mesmerizing, climactic score, featuring a haunting piano motif, ethereal vocals, and a crescendoing rhythm that ultimately resolves into a profoundly cathartic drop. This is easily one of our favorites of 2015.

A pioneer of trance, who continues to write visionary music under his RNX guise, Robert Nickson presents an uplifting progressive take on the original. Drawing inspiration once again from the cosmos, by the quarter turn, a celestially inspired array of pads and arpeggios imbue the listener with hope and joy. The song continues to soar higher, like an invincible astronaut, with the addition of lush lead chords. In the breakdown, the success of the mission is signaled by a rapturous high-octave version of the main "Meekix" theme, written with the pen of one of trance & progressive's most lucid poets.

The compilation is inspired by our weekly radio show of the same name, which is co-hosted by Jacob and Tom, as well as Johan Vilborg, Jayeson Andel, Vintage & Morelli, & Terry Da Libra. Reaching international listeners on Proton Radio, Digitally Imported, Pure.FM, Tenzi.FM, Dance Paradise, and other radio platforms, Silk Royal Showcase recently reached its 300th episode (http://www.silkroyalshowcase.com) and now often ranks amongst the Top 100 Music Podcasts in the USA on iTunes.

Carefully selected to represent the sound of Silk Royal Showcase radio, the songs included in the compilation range from the more pensive and melancholic shades of progressive to the more club-oriented, peak-hour material we tend to play at the end of our radio show mixes and live sets. Many of the artists are seasoned veterans of the SRS compilation series; there are also numerous first-time contributors to this year's compilation, many of whom have asserted themselves as leading talents in trance & progressive in just the past year.
