This track was saved from an old 4 track reel-to-reel recording David and I recorded together around 1982 (originally called "Dana's Dance").    David came up with the basic chord changes for the A and B section (which he played on a fender rhodes on the original tape recording), and he initially worked out the melody for the A section with the tape deck at half speed, as this tune really flies by. (because it sounded a bit strange up an octave when the tape was played at full speed, the A section sax melody could not be used as originally recorded). 

On the original 4 track tape recording I am playing the drum kit, bass and percussion parts, which survive on this new version mostly intact as originally recorded to tape.

We recorded just one take of this tune, (essentially just a rhythm track - rhodes and drums were recorded together, then fender bass, percussion, and sax were overdubbed).  We never finished the tune.  Three decades later, with the wonders of computer editing and recording, I have attempted (2015) to finish this tune by adding new sections and many new parts, including an intro, interlude, added melody for B section with guitar harmony parts, an extended sax-bass-percussion ending, many added horn parts, including two part harmony for the main melody (A section trumpet, sax, and synth sounds).  I also re-recorded the original fender rhodes part with a new acoustic piano track laying down the chord changes.  From the original 4-track tape recording (1982), only the bass, drums, and first half of the sax solo survive on this updated version.

Just playing around for the very first time with a Behringer Neutron Synth which is used to create a sub-bass EDM bass line.  Very simple bass part with a lame Hammond B3 lick added by me and a few lame electric piano licks thrown in for good measure around the vocal hook.  No claim to the vocals that are sliced up royalty free vocal samples just for some fun.   I plan to use the Behringer Neutron Synth a lot in the future with more complex bass lines - a very nice synth!
