Recorded in a studio on the banks of the river Corrib in the west of Ireland, Tonight's set comprises an hour of my own tracks, most of which are unreleased, comprising everything from slo mo bangers to Grime made from the sound of malfunctioning lungs to musique concrete if it was made by the Ying Yang Twins. It's mostly quite dark and bass heavy, Friday night music for the oddballs.

Fragmentation and Union on the Search for Utopia


It is not Utopia that we strive for. It is not reaching a “destination”, as Utopia is no place. It is the search for Utopia. Upon the water, the boat floats. We are in charge of the sails, and we decide which direction we move toward. On this journey, no one said it would be easy. Choppy waters and going forward into the unknown darkness of night. Yet, the stars shine, as does the moon. And from above, there is light. And when hours pass and the sunlight breaks, it simply illuminates. Simultaneously this light casts shadows on the placid watery plane. We need both on this search ~ both night and day. Symbiosis leads to quantum leaps. On this search for no place, memories arise, and with them we move ahead in awareness. Memories fragmented and fractal, morphing and merging and changing with the tides. They gather along the way into a collection of dark and shiny pieces of us. Some we choose to keep. Some we choose to free. We honor them all, for without them we would not be here, right now. On the boat. On this search. Shaping new memories as we float. The Utopian heartbeat thumps to the rhythm of just one sound. Do you hear it? Love is calling.

Our fifth release comes from http://soundcloud.com/heroshe out of Vancouver, BC. It is a deep melodic piece with synths, drones, and subtle drum hits. The song exudes how he was feeling after moving into a new home. Following a few live takes in an empty room with simply a Minitaur and a couple keyboards, a musical atmosphere of the night turning into day was created. 

“The concept was to use the least amount of drums as possible. The name 'No Lords' comes from the lead synth that’s playing throughout the song. It reminds me of a horn, something that announces or accompanies a Lord/ king type figure. The tone is fairly moody, so I like to think of it as the passing of a Lord. To us we gain a sense of freedom, sorrow, or happiness from something that was once binding us...but now no longer is.” -Heroshe
