The next installment of the Senso Sounds Level series sees us hit edition 9 - with another exciting
crop of artists to watch. 80 releases in and Senso continues to keep the quality at an almost
unthinkable level - and here is yet more evidence. Level 9 is four cuts from four artists - starting
off with Weltenstein, a DJ live act, classical concert pianist and producer based in Cologne.
He brings us 'Chiapas' - a tough-as-nails techno roller with crisp percussion and an aggressive
temperament. The Kech is a musician and DJ from Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. His 'Strong Liquid'
track is a hypnotic, grooving tech cut that pulls you into its spell. The Russian artist Lie2you has
been receiving a lot of support from techno royalty like Dubfire and Richie Hawtin, and here with
'Find The Way' we are blessed with an exceptional piece of highly dynamic techno, built for big
systems and primed to hit hard. Last up is Roman Adam’s trippy, spacy techno journey to outer
space 'Dark Side of the Moon'. Inspired by the Senso back catalogue, Adam’s track is the sound
of him musing on the unknown, and imagining an exciting journey of discovery - a perfect fit for
the label.

Shadow Wulf emerged at the beginning of 2020 as the ferociously dark cub of existing House and Techno label Wulfpack. The new sister label was founded by producers Erin Parisi (Crescendoll), Aaron Jacobs, and Drew Blyther when they recognized an opportunity to fill a void in LA’s underground scene. Thanks to Shadow Wulf, the Dark Techno/Minimal sounds more popular overseas have found their place in the den of Southern California. The founders set out to collaborate with producers from around the world and provide a twisted auditory landscape for a global audience. 
 
After a year of 13 strong and successful releases from talented artists all over the world, the majority of which charted and placed on Beatport’s top 100 or were featured selections on main subgenre pages, Shadow Wulf has shown strength amidst the growing number of competitors. The young LA-based label returns with their 14th release and their second Various Artists compilation. Shadow Wulf Vol. 2. features 11 dance-floor heaters that wholly encompass and present a clear snapshot of the current dark minimal, techno, and psytech movement. Musical curators include new Shadow Wulf artists Bendtsen (Denmark), Britton (USA), Matias Sapag (Germany), Melanie Massa (Argentina), and Matze (Germany), alongside returning artists Tomchilla (Australia), APHE (Germany), RNDM. (France), Rupt (France), Myad (USA), mexCalito (Germany), and Synchronometry (USA). 
 
Shadow Wulf Vol. 2 remains consistent in the label’s sound, while also showing the diversity in styles among the label’s artists and the founding tastemakers. Commanding the mind-bending psytech grooves are producers Bendtsen, Tomchilla, Britton, RNDM., Rupt, Synchronometry, and Myad, with tracks bouncing, driving, and rolling along hypnotic basslines and trippy atmospheric effects. And on the other side of the coin are the guttural minimal / techno creations from APHE, Melanie Massa, Matias Sapag, and mexCalito, with menacing bass synths, heavy and sticky rhythms, and eerie leads expertly designed to add space, grit, darkness, and weight to the savage grooves. These 11 tracks are not for the faint at heart, but are also irresistible in their charm, summoning darkside devotees everywhere to the center of those dusty dancefloors and grungey warehouses with their siren call. This selection of Shadow Wulves from across the globe show their teeth in this ferocious VA compilation, proving that even minimal sounds can pack a serious punch.

Three brand new burners from the Rostock-born Berlin-based Carlo Ruetz. Building on his unwavering commitment to hard hitting, minimal tinged techno for the main room, these tracks emit a sense of twisted, narcotic urgency that fits perfectly to the Senso Sounds aesthetic.
'Afterhour' is an all-guns-blazing techno banger, with edgy drums and trippy, intense synth splashes. 'Butterfly' keeps up the vibe, throwing in a cut-up vocal and firing snare hits. Last up, title track 'Critical Mass' employs a rolling, pulsing bassline, sci fi synth flourishes and plenty of dark atmosphere to deliver an exceptional futuristic bomb for the dance.

From his beginnings in the rolling valleys of the Derbyshire Dales to his new base in London, the young producer is securing his place amongst his heroes, delivering techno in his own distinctive style. Network shows what he’s capable of - a hypnotic, charged cut with an insistent groove that rarely lets up. Similarly, Balancing Act tunes into the same source - a thick bottom end embellished with syncopated percussion and an eerie, tension filled pad and vocal element. It’s a release that will mark Soul Alt Delete as a producer living up to his potential.
