19119 EP

Nakadia is queen of the Thai techno scene and after a big release on Filth on Acid she continues to make her mark with a new one on Ballroom Records. A regular in the Beatport Top 10 and with releases coming on Carl Cox’s Intec next to more gigs around the world, this techno talent is very much setting her own agenda in 2019.

Opener Sixth Sense is a high energy techno track with a slick acid bassline and synths to get hands in the air. It rolls and rolls and takes you on a real trip, while the Kaiser Souzai remix is dark and dirty, with gritty bass and raw synths really getting your attention.

7 Minutes 2 Midnight then hits hard again, with big room techno drums and stepping chords that bring plenty of energy to the floor. Drum fills and breakdowns build the tension and this one is sure to do plenty of damage once more. Last of all, a Superstrobe remix hits hard with rock solid drums and big chord stabs.

This is another big EP from this essential artist.

The Belgian based artist has championed a variety of genres, all tied together by the irresistible funk that keeps his audience in a hypnotic state of movement. Yellow Screen EP consists of the title track which combines a Born Slippy style kick drum echo with rattling highs and an eerie main synth line. AA-side Exposure features a nasty saw tooth theme over a relentless rolling techno banger with Beyer and Cox written all over it. Hitting all stores on April 19.   

With Gem Records set to release EPs by Egbert, Transcode, VNTM and Christopher Kah over the next few months, these are heady times for a label that continues to be rewarded for its consistent and innovative approach to contemporary electronic music.

One of the underground scenes sizzling emerging stars Lilly Palmer holds court on Senso Sounds once again and this time is through the power of a three track EP titled ‘All Things Fall’. A label boss with an eye for discovering promising new artists and unearthing timeless classics, Oliver Huntemann has always had a knack for showcasing the future of the scene. The title track is a polished slice of driving techno that perfectly builds in tension until the point where it hits the peak and sends the dancefloor into a frenzy of elated hedonism. German duo Teenage Mutants, who recently released their Run EP on Senso Sounds which included a Lilly Palmer remix, return the favour and cut their own distinctive mix of ‘All Things Fall’. Expect a stripped back, minimum approach that tackles the atmospheric elements to perfection before they unleash a swirl of acidic madness. The third track in the EP pack is ‘Shift’ that’s packed with a ruthless groove and precision percussion, pulsing bass and masses of rising atmospheric overtones that provide several peak time moments.
