In many styles of traditional music such as Bluegrass, folk, and in styles such as Rockabilly and Big Band and Bebop jazz, the bass role is filled by the upright bass.

In the early 80's I started breaking &amp; listening to break beats such as Midnight Star, Herby Hancock, The Soul Sonic Force, Grandmaster Flash... Then through the break dancing culture, I started listening to early hip hop such as Whodini, Koo Moe Dee, Run DMC, The Fat Boys, Eric B. &amp; Rakim, The Juice Crew, The Gucci Crew, The Boogy Boys..... Ever since I have been listening and studying Hip Hop. As a teenager I started going to underground shows &amp; fell in love with Jungle &amp; Drum n' Bass, You can probably here the influence in some of my beats. I always wanted to try my hand @ production but never did until about a year and a half ago when I was visiting my son &amp; lady up North in the Bay area, where I met Savvy, who has the same passion for music that I do. We started out about a 2 years ago messing around with a downloaded studio called Mix Craft, &amp; from there I went out and purchased Reason 4.0 &amp; we have been collaborating ever since &amp; decided to form our crew called "THE HAVNOTS". We have been working hard ever since to learn Reason 4.0 without schooling what so ever, &amp; this is what we have been coming up with. We truly hope you like our beats &amp; style.
