For their fifth Various Artist release, Amphibian Records explore the everchanging waters of broken beats and bass music. 

Jah-Tek presents track 1, 'Distruck', from the right honourable WZ. This one featuring dubwise frequencies in full effect, harmoniously floating around a marching bass line, off beat pad hits and flowing analogue artefacts.

WZ - Distruck (AMPHVA005) [Jah-Tek Premiere]

JUDDER launches its own label with the first release being a VA "Judder Compilation #1". Expect nine tracks, exploring bass-oriented sonics around the 130–160 bpm range, from the likes of both worldwide acknowledged and up-and-coming artists. A huge palette of sounds and different moods meticulously flows through each track from the very beginning to an end.

The duo Poima opens the release with hypnotic and viscous swampy vibes, at the same time An Avrin brings groovy dancefloor-ish breakbeat settings. JUDDER resident Oddkut comes in with a percussive-driven heavy-hitter, while Nattah showcases her skills with unpretentious yet deeply pervasive stepper "False Trail". DUBRAW's very own Skotcha delivers pure shellings with a skippy grime-influenced "Shells" and, as usual, Champion Sound are ready to bury the soundboy with nothing but a straight belter. Flint's minimalistic approach to production continues to unfold through an ever-swirling and ever-twisting "Amok" and so does Dawn Razor's with a very funky and dubby dancefloor tool. The one to complete the compilation is Kapha, sharing an enigmatic clicky juke-track "Act & Pause"

The first instalment in the series of JUDDER compilations has brought together a unique selection of talented artists and musicians in order for you to dive deeply into the bass-driven experimental sound.

"The ‘Glory Days’ EP marks a new chapter in the Alan Johnson output. Following sporadic releases throughout the last decade owing to a separation across different continents for both of us, we take a step forward from last year's Stillness EP - with an EP that constitutes our first release of entirely new music, since our first record back in 2013.

We have a propensity to work and sit on music for long periods of time which has previously produced complex and challenging outcomes but the last 2 years has seen a growth in our abilities to focus on refinement in our creation process, and an attempt to tell a story through more simplistic means.

The record was assembled with a vision and purpose over the last 18 months for the YUKU label specifically. It represents a shift in our existing sound, consistent through our past outputs which can be identified on some of the tracks across the record, and delivers us to a place which is influenced by a wider variety of experimentation, centred around more danceable outcomes and an air of glossy playfulness. The EP is split into two easily identifiable moods, representing a nod to a sometimes chaotic and pastiched past and a suggestive view of where the future may lie.

It's been an honour to work on an EP for the infinitely attentive and carefully crafted series of records curated by Jef and Ilda at YUKU, along with our friends at dsplaced who helped create the visual aspects of the release with us. This record is for everyone."
