Award-winning composer Yu-Hui Chang has written a wide range of music that compels and resonates with professional musicians and audiences alike. Her music is characterized by energy, precision, ingenious effects, and vibrant colors – all in the pursuit of a deep connection with humanity. She strives to break through cultural and stylistic boundaries, and to take an inclusive view of musical diversity. This attitude is manifested in the multifaceted quality of her compositional output, and the stylistic fluidity in her writing.

Yu-Hui is the recipient of two awards from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and Radcliffe Institute at Harvard University, and commissions from Fromm, Koussevitzky, Barlow, Naumburg, and Meet The Composer (now New Music USA). She has also been recognized by the Aaron Copland Award, Yoshiro Irino Memorial Prize, and the Council for Cultural Affairs of the Executive Yuan (Taiwanese government agency). 

Her compositions have been performed across continents in the Netherlands, Italy, UK, Denmark, New Zealand, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and throughout the U.S. to critical. Among the numerous commissions she has received are those from BMOP, San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Left Coast Chamber Ensemble, Earplay, Boston Musica Viva, Alea III, Volti, Ju Percussion Group, Monadnock Music Festival, Arts Council Korea, Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts, National Chiang Kai-Shek Cultural Center of Taiwan, and many others.

A native of Taiwan, Yu-Hui began her intensive music training in piano, voice, and music theory at the age of six, and started seriously pursuing composition as a career at the age of fourteen. She came to the United States in 1994 and received her graduate degrees from Brandeis University (Ph.D.) and Boston University (MM). After teaching at UC Davis for seven years, Yu-Hui moved back to the east coast and joined the Brandeis composition faculty in 2006. As an exponent of contemporary music performance, Yu-Hui previously served as a co-artistic director of Empyrean Ensemble and Dinosaur Annex Music Ensemble. Collectively she curated more than seventy concerts.

Yarn/Wire is a quartet of two percussionists and two pianists. This instrumental combination allows the ensemble flexibility to slip effortlessly between classics of the repertoire and more modern works that continue to forge new boundaries.

Founded in 2005, Yarn/Wire is admired for the energy and precision they bring to vital performances of today's most adventurous music. The results of Yarn/Wire's collaborative initiatives are pointing towards the emergence of a new and lasting repertoire, and partnerships with genre-bending artists such as Theatre of a Two-Headed Calf and David Bithell have led to the creation of work that is "spare and strange and very, very new." The Mivos Quartet, “one of America’s most daring and ferocious new-music ensembles” (The Chicago Reader), is devoted to performing the works of contemporary composers, presenting new music to diverse audiences. Since the quartet's beginnings in 2008 they have performed the works of emerging and established international composers who represent varied aesthetics of contemporary classical composition. Mivos is invested in commissioning and premiering new music for string quartet, particularly in a context of close collaboration with composers over extended time-periods.  In the current 2013-14 season, Mivos has collaborated on new works with Sam Pluta (Lucerne Festival Commission), Dan Blake (Jerome Commission), Mark Barden (Wien Modern Festival Commission), Scott Wollschleger, and Patrick Higgins (ZS), and in early 2014 will develop new work with Richard Carrick (Fromm Commission), Eric Wubbels (CMA commission), Kate Soper, and poet/musician Saul Williams.  Mivos is also committed to working with guest artists, exploring multi-media projects involving live video and electronics, creating original compositions and arrangements for the quartet, and performing improvised music.  Mivos has appeared on concert series including Wien Modern (Veinna, Austria), Asphalt Festival (Düsseldorf, Germany), Concerti Aperitivo (Udine, Italy), HellHOT! New Music Festival (Hong Kong), Edgefest (Ann Arbor, MI), and Aldeburgh Music (UK), where Mivos was invited to work with the Arditti Quartet and Helmut Lachenmann. Mivos was one of five groups selected for the Young Ensembles Fellowship at the 2012 Darmstadt Internationalen Ferienkurse für Neue Musik, where they were awarded a Fellowship Prize for Interpretation.

For a starting point to the compositions of Jinwook Jung, he constantly looks to works or ideas from other fields of art. From his environment, in terms of both the traditional and the present, he is never content to merely "translate" idioms. Rather he ardently seeks ways to reflect on these issues as a means to bring an inspiring vitality to his own ideas in these works. With his music, he often thematises post- and neocolonial issues related to the cultural studies of the present generation. Furthermore, one of his main projects is a social analysis of different aesthetics and eras—especially between French Baroque and modern Korean K-pop waves—to evoke messages about current tendencies of gender bias and social media.
   
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Jinwook Jung started learning piano and violin at the age of six. In 2006, he was accepted as a preliminary student at the Korean National University of Arts, where he studied composition and piano until 2011. He studied composition for his bachelor's degree at the University of the Arts Bremen with Jörg Birkenkötter and for a master’s degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz with Beat Furrer and Franck Bedrossian and at the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP) with Gérard Pesson. After finishing his Konzertexamen in Cologne under the guidance of Brigitta Muntendorf, Jinwook is currently based in Brussels and Paris. As composer he has collaborated with renowned groups, such as, among others the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the SWR Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, Klangforum Wien, ensemble Recherche, Intercontemporain, Ictus, Multilatérale, Schallfeld and Musikfabrik.
     
He has won numerous awards and scholarships, including the Deutschlandstipendium from the National Scholarship Foundation of Germany, Oscar and Vera Ritter Foundation and also from the DAAD. He is the laureate of the Karlsruhe Composition Competition prize and the Fondation Royaumont Festival Voix Nouvelles. He is the 2nd prize winner of the Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition in Poland, furthermore he was awarded as well as the 1st prize of the Karlsruhe International Composition Competition, the 1st prize of the Florence Composition Competition for string quartet and the 2nd prize of the International Gesualdo Composition Competition in Italy. His music has been recognised in a number of international music festivals, which includes Festival de Royaumont, Archipel Genève, Musikprotokoll, Impuls, Daegu International Contemporary Music Festival, IlSUONO Contemporary Music Week, Newmusic Week Rome, Time of Music, Festival ZeitGenuss, ZKM and he was invited to the Festival ManiFeste of IRCAM with his piece  Unerasing, which has been premiered by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. Furthermore he was selected for the Atelier for orchestral composition of the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra SWR, for the collaboration with the ensemble recherche, for the Sound of Wander by Chaya Czernowin and Simon Steen-Andersen in Milan and for the Festival Chigiana by Salvatore Sciarrino in Siena, resulting in his piece being premiered by Quartetto Prometeo and Matteo Cesari. He has received numerous commissions notably from Philharmonie de Paris, Bozar, Radio France, Brucknerhaus Linz and Stockholm Chamber Brass. He was appointed composer-in-residence of the Composició Musical Rodamúsic, Cité internationale des arts in Paris and Artistic residency NODUS and was invited as guest composer of the ensemble TIMF in South Korea. Among his upcoming creative projects, a commission from the Bozar for Ictus and a piece for the Gaudeamus Festival in the Netherlands, which will be performed by Slagwerk Den Haag.

Tonia Ko has collaborated with leading soloists and ensembles across a variety of media—from acoustic concert pieces to improvisations and site-specific installations. Recipient of numerous accolades including a Guggenheim Fellowship, Ko’s music has been lauded by The New York Times for its “captivating” details and “vivid orchestral palette,” and performed at venues such as Walt Disney Hall, Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, and the Tanglewood Music Center and Royaumont Festival. Born in Hong Kong and raised in Hawai'i, Ko holds a DMA from Cornell University and is currently Senior Lecturer in Composition at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Regarded as “one of the most prominent ensembles in the United States practicing truly experimental music” (I Care If You Listen), TAK delivers energetic performances "that combine crystalline clarity with the disorienting turbulence of a sonic vortex.” (WIRE Magazine). The ambitious ensemble “impresses with the organicity of their sound, their dynamism and virtuosity” (New Sounds, WQXR). Dedicated to the commissioning of new works and direct collaboration with artists working in a variety of disciplines, TAK promotes ambitious programming at the highest level. 
 The quintet has released four albums to critical acclaim, including Oor (2019), which launched their in-house media label TAK editions. This label creates broadly accessible platforms for audience engagement with a host of new music media with a focus on original TAK content. The ensemble's Youtube videos have been viewed 15,000 times, and the TAK Editions Podcast has received over 5,000 listens from across the globe.
