Our next installment of the mix series was created by the extraordinary producer, DJ, painter, graphic designer, and the person behind Adhémar and half of Aucuba Replica, Clément Davout. 

We wanted a mix from Clément early on. His works are like instances of mastered calligraphy, emotionally rooted into the intuitive understanding of human cognition. His exquisite sense of style, meticulous production, recognizable sonic palette, and sensitivity to the smallest details make him one of the Delayed all-time favorites. It seems like everything he puts his mind on never disappoints.  

For this mix, Adhemar reworked all the tracks and did special edits to make it unique. Delicate with a flawless flow; opening up, yet introspective. It spotlights all his signature elements and is mesmerizing in a balance of engagement, relaxation, and unwinding. We fell in love with it right away and honestly think it is one of Adhémar’s finest creations. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!🌱

About:

After 20years of DJing for mainly personal enjoyment, more recently Chris transitioned from techno / house to curating mixes in the ambient genre after his relatively recent foray into deep listening through meditation. This mix takes inspiration from his frequent runs / hikes around the south of England & in Scotland where the music is a key component of the experience. He's been a fan of the ambient genre for many years & this mix reflects the music that contributes towards the atmosphere of being in special places, usually very early in the morning, but equally is suited to deep listening sessions where he hopes the music can create a journey that takes the listener through a journey of textures, melodies & emotions with frequencies that can help contribute towards a state of deep relaxation.

~ About The Story ~

Winter in the forest… the days are getting shorter and darker and roaming thru the woods on a freezing cold winter day makes you wish for a crackling fire. Being out in the wild, especially in darker times sharpens also your senses. You register every cracking of twigs which echoes from one ancient tree to another. Bare trees seem like creatures from another age…Solitude in such a wild, haunting but at the same time enchanting environment lets you search for each and every light in the dark. Your campfire illuminates the gloomy forest and dancing shadows of the flames are casted on the surrounding trunk of the trees. Above the star-bright night and sounds echoing in infinity…Snow, wind, fire and mother nature…the gathering of elements inside the great Halls of Trees!

Campfire Stories 85 (Cloudwalker) by Warmth

In addition to being a clarinetist and producer I’m also a PhD researcher studying how SoundCloud shapes the ways electronic musicians learn how to produce. Using a range of methods, my work investigates the social and musical practices of musicians online and offline to understand the connections between social media and how electronic producers, and in particular beat makers, learn how to express themselves musically as both individuals and as part of a wide scene.
