After spending a lot of time recently listening to Murcof, culminating in going to see him live, this composition is the result. Listening on headphones is recommended otherwise the binaural elements cannot be appreciated.Despite the length of the piece I think it is worth listening to all the way through due to the evolution of the different elements

In addition to being a clarinetist and producer I’m also a PhD researcher studying how SoundCloud shapes the ways electronic musicians learn how to produce. Using a range of methods, my work investigates the social and musical practices of musicians online and offline to understand the connections between social media and how electronic producers, and in particular beat makers, learn how to express themselves musically as both individuals and as part of a wide scene.
