DJ Old Number 7, born in 1974 in the Bronx, New York, discovered his passion for music at a young age. Immersed in the evolving hip hop scene, his fascination with music and culture grew into a full-fledged passion. This passion was further ignited at age 11, when he attended a basement party and was captivated by the DJ's ability to energize the crowd.

His DJ journey began at age 13 with his first turntables, the Technics SLBD 22s, which challenged him with their lack of pitch control. Despite this, he mastered the art of scratching and blending records. His evolving interests later led him to music production, marked by the acquisition of an Akai MPC 2000.

In 1999, Old Number 7 honed his audio engineering skills at the Institute of Audio Research. Then, around 2006, he paused his career to start a family, but his love for music never waned. He eventually returned to DJing and reignited his passion for producing, beat-making & digital composing.

The moniker "Old Number 7" comes from his fondness for Jack Daniel's whiskey, known for its "Old No. 7" label. This personal preference for the iconic whiskey brand became intertwined with his identity as a DJ, symbolizing his deep-rooted connection to his roots and the authenticity he brings to his music.

Now, in 2023, DJ Old Number 7 continues to be a vibrant part of the music scene, blending his love for hip hop with the spirited essence of his namesake.
