Plasma Audio have tapped Alix Perez for a new remix release of Sabre's 2014 single 'Yoga'.

Focusing on quality over quantity, the Melbourne label has notched up releases from some of the drum & bass scene's most promising new talent, such as Survey, Gamma and Fre4knc, along with big names like Icicle, Sabre and now Shogun and Exit favourite Perez.

Originally a grubby, halftime number with a bad attitude, 'Yoga' was always prime material for Perez, given his diversion down the hip hop-inspired path a la Ivy Lab - the pioneering London trio of which Sabre is himself a part. . Offering two takes on the track, the 1984 producer's 'Warped Mix' has become a new favourite in the DT office. Maintaining the pace and impact of the original, Perez turns out an even more menacing beast, tearing each sound apart to give it a jagged digital edge.

It’s a collection of material by our long term friendly producers, the ones you have most likely heard because of us already, as well as completely new people just entering the Sequel One family. We decided to go for a “future” theme this year.

While footwork culture originated in Chicago and is still primarily being championed by Chicago producers, DJs, and dancers, international artists like Marius Mevold AKA Slick Shoota have also been instrumental in bringing the sound to a worldwide audience by incorporating elements of other genres like jungle, drum & bass, and grime. His high-octane hybrid club productions are always recognizable by the frenetic pounding groove, rap and ragga vocal chops, and of course, his infamous “LET’S MOVE” tag. An official Teklife member since 2015, Slick Shoota has laid a foundation of strong underground relevancy, while also peeking into the more mainstream side of dance music here and there with a release on Diplo’s Mad Decent and a widely supported rave smasher bootleg of Hudson Mohawke’s “Cbat” that is still making the rounds on dancefloors and festival stages all over the world despite being released almost 7 years ago. For many electronic music fans getting more interested in uptempo dance music, Slick Shoota bridges the gap into the wonderful world of 160 bpm and beyond.

We’ve been huge fans of Marius’ work for the better part of a decade now, so it goes without saying that we’re hugely honored to have him on the Booms and Claps mix series. For “BnC Mix 042: Slick Shoota,” he delivers a 38 minute offering of club-ready originals, VIPs, edits, and remixes, many of which are featured on his most recent album release “VIP VAULTS.” The 20-track collection of largely never-before-heard tracks Slick produced between 2013 and 2018. There are two ways of creating music: conventional or weird. 
No doubt LLHC always chooses the second one. He assembles [or disassembles] breaks, drum machines beats, pads, acid sounds and basslines like nobody else, moving away from all the aesthetic standards we are used to and creating a sound that is really appreciated in the urchin community. 
Can you imagine remixing those two LLHC tunes? Well… Anna Morgan and Johney did it and the remixes are awesome!

Aufect's Sigrah and Tar affiliate Norfik give us dance floor therapy with their "Alley of Mirrors" single off Sigrah's forthcoming LP 'This is Letting Go.' The journey starts with brooding bass that leads the way to Classic jungle breaks soaring over uplifting euphoric chords as a vocal sample speaks to us about self-reflection. This is Letting Go is the debut full-length album from North American artist, Sigrah. Primarily known for his depth and range in sound palettes and musical styles, Sigrah often creates remarkably unique moods and feelings within his music. 1 part shoe-gaze, 1 part jungle, 1 part
dissonance, and 3 parts energy is the recipe. This record is certainly all of those, and you can truly feel that Sigrah has poured his all into this body of work.
Prior to this LP, Sigrah has mostly soldiered in the trenches of the bass music ethos ala halftime Drum & Bass, Jungle, and dubstep, and has seen support along the way from genre figureheads such as Om Unit & Fracture, selectors like The Librarian, and even arena-fillingartists such as Bassnectar. This variety of support highlights the breadth and reiterates thefluidity within the Sigrah project in its entirety.

In what is proving to be a hectic year BTG are serving up a hectic EP from none other than the Dutch maestro TMSV with remixes from the currently prolific A.Fruit and BTG’s very own head honcho Bulu.

Ritalin Jam is just as frenetic as its name suggests and leads you on a twisted, ADHD riddled journey into cyber space. A.Fruit takes Ritalin Jam and makes it entirely her own with a deeper, darker but just as hyperactive feel. 
 
On the B-Side we have Mountain (Wait Here) which is one of TMSV’s signature 140BPM bits that he’s known and loved for. Bulu then takes what was once a deep stepper and tears it up at 170BPM with a rolling yet broken feel.
