Various Artists - ADE sampler 2021

Whist at the time of writing, the format of this years Amsterdam Dance Event is still being decided, one thing is certain, the music and spirt of the festival is stronger than ever!
 
ADE connects a global electronic music community which is reflected this in our 2021 sampler, bringing together homegrown Dutch talent alongside artists from Europe, South America, and The Middle East.
 
The full melodic spectrum is represented, from deep progressive beats and emotional vocals to the tougher kicks and astral synths found at the darker end of melodic techno. 
 
7 new artists join the sequence family as part of the sampler, and we welcome back Zieze for his second outing on the label.

james mpbk - In My Memory (Original Mix) [sequence music]

The talented Russian artist Oleg Espo is the latest addition to the Manual Music family. With Boume, Muline and Doomsayer along for the ride, he presents two intense melodic original cuts 'Spaceship' and 'Magic Land'.

You'll find another two label newbies on remix duties as Eli David and Weird Sounding Dude provide lush and proggy versions of both songs.

Naeiiv has been sending us music to play and for Siamese since a while. When we liked one demo we wanted to sign, the track has already been promised to another label and we had to let it go unfortunately. We appreciated his honest and loyal stand towards this topic and agreed to work on a full EP for the label. Here it is, we couldn’t be more satisfied with the result; a sound-concept EP with high recognition value. 

The title track 'Where Did It All Go Wrong?' could easily become a future classic in the hypnotic-melodic realm of modern dance music. We had the chance to play and listen to this wonderful song 4000m above ground under the sun and among the beauty of the swiss alps. The score for this cinematic setting was absolutely perfect. 

While the eponymic title track comes in smoothly and builds up across the whole duration, 'Tausend Momente' gets there a bit faster if not rougher. The spoken words about losing yourself in almost too many moments to remember and the roaring synths created an addictive and irresistible vibe.

With 'Zukunft und Vergangenheit' and 'Exit the Complex' Naeiiv is showing us his calmer and more serene side. We recently recorded an 'art.set' for ARTE Concert where the latter fit perfectly for one of the many tempo changes we included in our set.

All in all a beautifully crafted release that works track by track but especially as a harmonious whole.

Naeiiv - Exit the Complex

The 31st release of the label comes out of the hands of the Greek Antimatter Particle (@antimatterparticle) and is called ‘Gloomy Winter’. The EP includes three minimalistic and dark melodic techno originals, with emphasis on techno. Besides, we are happy to announce Heîk (@heik_ofc) is contributing to this EP with an energetic and more melodic orientated remix.

The first track of the EP is also the title track, called ‘Gloomy Winter’. The icy and dark vibe, which is sensible throughout the full EP, immediately comes forward. With tight and minimalistic percussion elements Antimatter Particle is giving a rapid groove to the track. On top of this groove, lingered pads and atmospheric synths are laid down.  

‘Floating’ is the banging second track. The lower part is a bit heavier and is giving a lot of groove and body to the track. The cold synth work is a nice example of eccentric sound design. Combined with the mysterious background percussion, it results in a very compelling composition.

The third track of the EP is called ‘Tar’. In the track the compelling vibe evolves to captivation. Founded by an acidy lower part, the ethereal pads are taking you to another dimension, where they keep you until communicating synths are taking over in the breaks. Together those elements are setting a haunting mood. 

The final track is Heîk’s remix of ‘Tar’. He took the compelling parts and main melody of the original and built his own world around them. The remix has a lot of energy with an ongoing flow. On top of this flow, interesting sound designs are taking shape, providing unexpected moments. Sometimes it makes you think twice about what you are hearing. So, HeÎk closes the EP in a dynamic and powerful way.
