'Kohra returns on his own imprint, Qilla Records, for a fantastic first release of the year, with remixes from Kotelett & Zadak, SHFT and FILM.

‘Vedanta’ literally translates to 'the end of the vedas’, an ancient Indian philosophy with various schools of thought based around duality and non-duality. This track takes a hypnotic and melodic direction that is very much part of Kohra’s signature style.

Berlin-based Kotelett & Zadak are up first on remix duties, tackling ‘Vedanta’. The duo are regulars at Katerblau and have previously released on key labels like Poker Flat and Exploited Ghetto. They give the original a stripped-down sound that is spooky & mysterious, trapping you in their alluring late night house atmosphere.

This is another fresh release from Qilla, a label that continues to push the envelope.'

Organica is the title track of Modal’s upcoming EP on Alpha Black Records. The track was born from a combination of riffs played with an emulation of a Farfisa organ. The solid and simple groove is defined by few drum elements and a straight uptempo bass line. 

The choices behind the arrangement and the mix are influenced by Modal’s criteria in his musical research: to scope out a personal raw melodic house style. 

Organica will be out on August 3th, accompanied by a second work, "Feed your head", inspired by the psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane.

About the artist
Mattia was born in Italy, in a little village between Rome and Naples. For many years, he was in contact with Classical music, Blues and Rock and thanks to this exposure he learned to play the guitar and the bass.
This led him to discover electronic music, which he found to be made of energy and great sounds! So, he began to expand his DJ culture with Electronic, Deep and futuristic sounds. Mattia has created a unique style, based on experimentation and innovation. Now he lives in Valencia (Spain).
