After having spun his way into our ears through numerous sets across various podcasts in recent years, we're delighted to welcome the equally energetic and affable Swiss artist @aka_tony, to our esteemed lineup. 

While he never fails to surprise us with a colourful array of tracks, his distinctive sound always shines through clearly and unmistakably. When he's not commanding the decks himself, he enriches the scene with his podcast series @aka-tapes and @slomosensual and his event series "Down To Earth".

tschu tschu, der gefyhlsexpress rollt über die grenzen deutschlands tief in den süden. dort, wo die spanische sonne, die sommertage noch nicht verabschiedet hat und lauschige tunes warten.
nächster halt:  l'a cultural - @niu barcelona, 
tief treibende bässe locken das teils verschlafene feiervolk am samstag mittag aus ihren zelten, um mit dem gefyhlsexpress in elektronischen frequenzen einzutauchen und die zellen rythmisch zu wecken. 
die buhu stage öffnet mit ordentlich dampf und die gleise sind gestellt auf bouncy emotions. hier und da ein bisschen melodische landschaften und hin und wieder eine wummernde baseline. 
und hier gibts nochmals den fahrtenbucheintrag auf die ohren. 

@la cultural: was eine unfassbar schöne zeit und was ein erlebnis von diesem wunderschönen festival und dieser family ein teil sein zu dürfen. ab sekunde 1 habe ich mich zuhause gefühlt und ich danke euch und das team für diese wunderschöne erfahrung <3 wir sehen uns nächstes jahr wieder, das ist gewiss. und ja ich hatte nicht nur einmal pipi in den augen während des sets und auch über die gesamte zeit. liebe geht raus an euch!

>>Wer bist du und woher kommst du?
Mein Name ist Richard Mann. Ich komme aus Neustadt an der Weinstraße in Rheinland-Pfalz und wohne seit 7 Jahren in Berlin.

>>Wie kamst du zum Auflegen?
Ich habe vor 12 Jahren angefangen zu produzieren und vor etwa 8 Jahren habe ich mein erstes DJ Set gespielt. Am Anfang hatte ich nicht wirklich den Plan vor Leuten zu spielen, aber bin sehr glücklich darüber diese Leidenschaft gefunden zu haben und dass meine Freunde mich so bestärkt bzw. gepusht haben aufzutreten. 

>>Was hat dich für das Set inspiriert?
Ich fand die Schleichend Podcastreihe seit langem sehr inspirierend, da sie viel Raum für etwas experimentellere Musik bietet.

✔️ Was sind deine musikalischen Einflüsse? Was ist dein musikalischer Hintergrund? 

Schon in meiner Kindheit hat mich meine klassische Musikausbildung geprägt – ich habe 14 Jahre lang Klarinette gespielt. Mit anderen Menschen Musik zu erleben und zu machen, hatte schon immer eine absolut positive Wirkung auf mich. Meine ersten gekauften Alben kamen aber tatsächlich aus dem Bereich der elektronischen Musik, um genau zu sein von Sunshine Live. Danach bin ich durch zahlreiche Genres gereist, bis ich schließlich, auch durch meinen Umzug 2009 nach Berlin, der elektronischen Musik nicht mehr von der Seite weichen wollte. Im Salon der Rummelsbucht habe ich meine Liebe für Downtempo entdeckt.

2023 habe ich durch einen Workshop bei @femquency meine Hemmungen über Board geeworfen und meinen lange gehegten Wunsch, selbst aufzulegen, in die Tat umgesetzt. Eins führte zum anderen – und here we are. Ich könnte nicht glücklicher über diese Entwicklung sein und freue mich, meine musikalische Reise mit Euch zu teilen.

✔️ Was macht deiner Meinung nach eine gute Afterhour aus? 

Liebe Menschen, ein heißer Kakao und vor allem viel Zeit für langsame Beats.

✔️ Welche Gedanken magst du uns zu deinem Mix mit auf den Weg geben? 

Manchmal ist es nicht ganz einfach, sich in einen Club-Kontext hinein zu denken und fühlen, wenn der eigene Modus sich eher auf der Couch befindet. Drei Entwürfe wurden verworfen, bis ich mich dazu entscheiden habe, mich auf meine erste Intuition zu verlassen.
Für mich ist essentiell Momente zum Träumen, zum Weinen, zum Lachen und zum Abschalten zu generieren, dabei aber immer in einer positiven Energie zu bleiben.

✔️ Bei Mitschnitten von Gigs: Wie hast du den Gig im Beate Uwe empfunden? 
Ich durfte einen komplett vollen und aufgeheizten Floor übernehmen - Big Shoutout an Joanna Lenta! Da war ich schon sehr nervös, aber ab Track Nummer 1 war irgendwie alles gut! Die Energie der TänzerInnen hat mich komplett abgeholt und entspannen lassen. Und dann war da dieser Flow, von dem alle reden. Ich glaube man hat es mir angesehen.
