Fun Boi is the project of Matty James, a hard-working industry pro hailing from Sydney, Australia. Captivated by the pulsating beats and neon lights leaking from club basements and warehouses, Matty dived into Sydney nightlife and a degree in audio-engineering. Driven by a relentless passion for electronica, honed his skills as a DJ, while juggling his studies and eventually, running Sydney&#39;s infamous Club 77. This experience gave him invaluable insights into the inner workings of the music industry, allowing him to further refine his craft as a DJ and producer.

A man of as many hats as continously explores new genres and styles, His latest and greatest iteration is Fun Boi. He has a reputation behind the decks for his distinctive and eclectic blend of deep house, disco, and techno. His original productions take inspiration from disco to IDM. His funky basslines, playful melodies, and intricate, layered percussion, creating a unique blend of sounds that transport listeners on a sonic journey.

The Empress of Nature & t-woc cover the interplanetary boogie hit 'Rappers Delight' , while Felix Kubin & daughter Bela waltz through the stratus. Conny Frischauf and The Mindful Potheads take us to lynchian journeys of kindergarten Kraut. Mytron’s motorik moon dance spins past Naomie Klaus’ martian punk shuffle, all amongst a stellar double pack of electronics orbiting Uranus.

Fata Morgana’s concept draws from Ispirian ́s live sets in the USA. Then, back in Europe, Vasco refined his performance and the live takes were finally mixed and mastered in Madrid. The project sees the light in 2023, after the global impasse the world went through, as a two EP installment: Fata Morgana I & II.
Like a complex optical illusion perceived as a banner over the sea horizon, where sight is significantly distorted and changes rapidly, unlike any other ordinary mirage, a true Fata Morgana comprises several inverted and steepled illusions, stacked on one another, showing alternating compressed and stretched sonic lands.
The term named after the Mistress of the Fairies of the Salt Sea, King Arthur's half-sister Morgan le Fay, encapsulates the hallucinatory prowess of the seduction myth, a symbol of incantation and sensorial catharsis among the pleasure and the pain meanders.
Musically the 5 track EP presents an uncharted lysergic soundscape unfolding with hallucinatory electro-glitter and gritty fat notes (Wickbush), evolving like the poisoning stages of a vividly cosmic intake- dub acid darkness (Acid Tears) conveying a magnetic grip, a true obsession which turns to be a spell (Una y Otra Vez), steadily building up a hypnotic subtle theme that takes you as high as an astral trip (Mirage) and slowly descends from the alternate consciousness state on the latter, March 3rd as a premise
of the deepen future journey blazing ahead.

We kick off 2024 straight from Kyoto. This time, we introduce the Japanese duo "Kross Section," who make their debut on MM Discos under the guidance of "E84." The release includes three infectious tracks that explore the essence of "house" from a distinctly "Nu-Disco" perspective. Infinite arpeggios seamlessly intertwine with corrosive basslines, culminating in a refreshing and cosmic musical creation.

With well-received previous appearances on respected outlets such as Espacio Cielo, Emerald & Doreen, Quixotical, Bonkers, and Ninefont, Madrid-based producer Stylic makes his debut on the super cool label Paisley Dark – managed by our dear John Paynter (SXDNS123) – with another incursion into the dark realm: The "PoPoPoPom" EP (yeah, we also loved the name) delivers three well-constructed originals and adds another interesting layer of colours on the growing sound kaleidoscope of the British platform.

With a “hypnotic slow-mo, Weatherall-esque" bearing, the release reminds us that there are other kinds of bangers and peak-time beasts in times of (extremely) fast-paced bangers and peak-time beasts. Ranging from 097 to 111 BPM, the message here is to lose yourself to dance and savour the moment… but not so fast.

Premiered here, “Like This” is an immersive dive into the deliciousness of the downtempo world. Pure bliss triggered by trippy distorted leads, groovy vocal stabs/hooks, siren-like riffs, and percussive elements, resulting in an intricate and shake-your-booty-but-in-slow-motion masterpiece.

The collaborative project from Vincent Lemieux and Guillaume Coutu-Dumont, Flabbergast, returns this March with a new EP, entitled ‘Default Mode Network’ and coming via Swiss imprint Adam’s Bite.
Vincent Lemieux is a staple of the Montreal, Canada underground and a widely beloved DJ for his impeccable technique and selections, he’s also offered up productions on the Studio Club and DISDAT labels and a collaborative EP alongside Ohm Hourani for Jigit and co-founding the Musique Risquée alongside Akufen, Deadbeat and Stephen Beaupré.
Guillaume Coutu-Dumont, a fellow Montrealer has long been a prized producer for his unique spin on micro house and deep house music with his music finding a home on the likes of Mule Musiq, Meander and Dokutoku among others. In 2015 the two joined forces for their Flabbergast debut on Circus Company, have gone on to release with Yoyaku and Copier/Coller, and here makes a triumphant return for Switzerland’s Adam’s Bite with four fresh original cuts.
Opening the EP is the playful ‘Peppermint Poddle’, fuelled by oscillating synth tones, twitchy percussion and saturated bass alongside a spoken word vocal. ‘Manger Du Bon Manger’ then shifts focus to cinematic organ lines, jazzy drums and a snaking bass groove throughout.
‘Mou D’état’ kicks off the B-side and sees the duo dive deeper via ethereal atmospherics, their signature wonky, mind bending synths and an amalgamation of processed vocal murmurs. Lastly ‘Dans L’oeil’ sees César Merveille join the party, the trio working collectively to create a unique slice of percussion fueled microhouse with intricately intertwined organic percussion, dubby synth flutters, cinematic pads and pulsating subs.
