Beyond The Struttosphere blast back into orbit with the release of ‘Planet Ogo’ on Discolypso. The title track is inspired by progressive trance and fuses a driving chug bassline with a hypnotic 303 sequence, distorted techno stabs and a trifecta of meandering arpeggiators, creating a wormhole through space and time. Thunderous power chords and nuanced percussion layering guide the track towards a cosmic void, echoing with mind-bending vocal samples from the cult sci-fi film ’12 Monkeys’, before a high-voltage crescendo transports you to the Planet Ogo. Remixes are provided by two masters of the scene: South Korean cosmic disco royalty, Shubostar, applies her trademark sound, introducing playful melodies, kinetic arps and retro-futuristic synths that elevate its seismic breakdown into outer space. Spanish new wave maestro, K-Effect, provides a more psychedelic contribution, weaving in tripped-out FX, clinical drum arrangements and low-end synths that propel the tune towards its ominous conclusion.
‘Cosmic Stuntman’, the second offering, is as intrepid as its name suggests. The first half is a minimalist soundscape defined by crunchy guitar riffs, energetic tambourines, cowbells and an array of spacey FX, before the second opens in throttle with a ferocious mid-range bass, cutting snares and cosmic pads that build in magnitude as the track reaches its spellbinding climax. Dionigi, alumnus of Italian cosmic sound movement, remixes the track into a low-slung chugger complete with glitchy vocoders that resemble scrambled UFO transmissions.
The EP concludes with bonus remixes of BTS back catalogue hits. ‘Replicants’, originally released on Mélopée Records in 2021, is resurrected by Berlin-based electronic rock n’ roll band, Tegel Boys, who transform the track into a krautrock-infused kosmiche space odyssey perfect for tuned-in psychic travellers. Mexican dark wave legend, Rigopolar, follows with a tranced-out remix bolstered by robotic arpeggiators and mechanical guitars that propel you to Mach-10. Completing the package are reinterpretations of ‘Storming Heaven’ which first appeared on Emerald & Doreen Recordings and pays homage to Jay Steven’s eponymous book on LSD and the American dream. Argentinian dark disco producer and member of Ralph Lawson’s 2020 Soundsystem, Julian Sanza, cranks up the funk and reconfigures the track into a Balearic sunset trip. UK godfather of chug Rich Lane isolates the original’s soaring guitar solo and reimagines the track into a mesmerising downtempo chugger tinged with psychedelia.

PREMIERE - Kate Stein & Lord Fascinator - Le Petit Martien (Eskimo Recordings)

Balearic Ensemble locks in for another round, this time welcoming Statues to the fold with Power Hour, a five-track voyage through shimmering synthwork, pulsating grooves, and deep dancefloor mystique. Three originals, two heavyweight remixes—tried, tested, and ready to roll.

The title track Power Hour sets the pace—tight, kinetic, a late-night charge built for motion. Steve Carr takes the wheel for the remix, stripping it back and stretching it out, all lush textures and low-end sway. A heads-down moment with eyes on the horizon.

Then there’s Starlights, a slow-burning dream wrapped in warmth. Pete Blaker works his alchemy, spinning it into an eight-minute tribal glide—delicate, expansive, locked into the groove. Roam Recordings proudly announces its latest release, marking the debut of Brazilian-born, Berlin-based producer Rotciv on the label. Known for his sophisticated blend of analog warmth and dancefloor energy, Rotciv delivers a stunning three-track EP that showcases his distinctive sound and hypnotic production style.
