La La & the BooYa are Marf & Eddie, a sibling collaboration based in West Yorkshire, UK. 

They describe the music they create as "songs for dancefloors and kitchen tables". Music is in their blood, and the eclectic flavours they grew up with have shaped their unpinnable sound. Be it their dad's John Peel cassettes or their uncle's ska band, family folk songs round the fire or mum's car speakers pumping soul and reggae, big sister's Smiths records or big bro's jungle-mania - it's all there, with plenty more to boot.

It wasn't until the late noughties that the two actually started writing and producing together as La La & the Boo Ya. It's no surprise to learn that Eddie's introcate rhythmic stylings are thanks to a teenage love of playing the drums, his signature style has beats fall over themselves like a half-cut body popper maintaining impossible balance. There's a fair bit of genre teasing - flitting between electro, ragga, folk, break-beat, funk, dubstep and tear-out jungle. The basslines jump from dirty and distorted to bouncy and playful. It's this sense of fun that binds together the creative flows of brother and sister. Marf has the lyrical ability to be sincere and tongue in cheek at the same time, part folk songstress and part rude gal - her husky tones pack a punch as, from song to song, she veers from the very personal to the downright political, discussing 21st century environments with sweet melodies and brutal honesty.

In 2010, a mutual friend introduced Congo Natty to the music of La La & the Boo Ya. Since then, Marf has appeared on stage at many a Congo Natty dance and his forthcoming album features his own take of La La & the Boo Ya's 'Junglist Soldiers' as well as Marf's guest vocalings throughout the album. LL&BY's sense of family and music as priority has secured a long lasting working relationship with the Congo Natty Fam and their debut single 'Lioness' is out 11th March 2013 on the new Congo Natty Bass label. The single is going out as a double A side - the flipside being a Congo Natty / Vital Elements (Serial Killaz) remix featuring the UK's Number 1 dancehall queen Lady Chann.

Marvellous 'The Hitman' Cain has not only made some of our favourite tunes of the original Jungle era but has also been a close friend of ours for years now, so when he asked us to get involved in remixing this classic tune with him, we jumped at the chance.
For those of you that don't know the original, it was a massive Jungle anthem from 1994, produced by Dem 2 Ruff and could be heard in any big DJ's set at the time making it a firm favourite with both DJ's and ravers alike, a definite 'ladies tune'!
This is our remix of it and as always we tried to keep the vibe of the original track while bringing the production values up to date, we hope you like it.
This has already been gaining some serious DJ support from Hype, Pleasure, Sub Zero, Micky Finn, Darren Jay, Majistrate and Nicky Blackmarket, to name but a few and will hopefully see a release in the next month or so.

This is something that most of you will never have heard. We had already worked with Toddla on his 'Streets So Warm' single, then last year he had his national tour with Major Lazer and hit us up to help out with some of the music for his stage show. The result was this fantastic track that featured the gorgeous Ms. Dynamite on vocals.
We are pretty sure that this will never get a release as it was exclusively made for that tour and at this time there are no plans to release it. But never say never...!

Jaydan's signature take on jump up turns heads in any set, and the new Journeys EP is no exception. Heavyweight vibes lace the six track collection and will be sure to keep even the hardest DnB heads going into the early hours. 

The euphoric opening of 'Thrillseekers' sets the tone, quickly stepping into murkier territory with fat low-ends and screeching highs blended in with a stunning vocal hook. 'Late Night Drive' wades in deeper currents, an undeniable bass swell takes centre stage with the producer opting for the minimal route with maximum effect. Similarly the frantic bedlam of 'Lonely Days' seems just as effortless, a hint of the junglist bleeds through whilst still keeping the lid on a menacing bassline. 'Menace' equally smashes it and certainly one to look out for in the crates of the Playaz camp. '1952' reveals the true extent of Jaydan's production capabilities, an all together more laid back approach, jazz samples and down-tempo feel offer the perfect wind down after a heavy night. Last but definitely not least the Annix lads take the reins on 'The Driller Killer', their stamp the final touches to an affirmed stomper.

Bringing intelligently dark drum and bass to the masses is a difficult job, but somebody's gotta do it. This time Mortem takes Demand's hot seat to encourage two tracks with the hard-hitting firepower and sub pressure of a depth charge.
Utilising old school flavours for “Malfunction” while maintaining that technical bite, writhing rhythms are sucked in through his unique sampling vortex to create a track that's all about movement. Multi-layered and thick with attitude, its behemoth of a bassline is barely contained by intricately woven techy percussion.
As one of drum & bass' most reliable sources of prolific high quality, Mortem rises above the rest time and again with his unique take on deep, intelligent beats. This release showcases his love for depth, texture and movement but also his capacity for creativity, which comes in droves.
