Turning it down a little bit this week with some minimal house, a bit of deep house, tech house, some minimal breakbeats and touch of regular house. I often find that the minimal records I collect tend to not get the use they rightfully deserve. They bring a relaxed nature about my collection that is otherwise pretty turbo. So let's sit back and cruise with sounds from France, Germany, The Ukraine, The United States and Austria. Enjoy.

In Chinese and other East and Southeast Asian societies, a red packet (紅包) is a monetary gift which is given during holidays or special occasions such as the lunar new year, weddings, or birthdays. 

This mix was carefully constructed to represent the trajectory and flow of what you might expect from a moody warm-up set, with the idea of creating an atmosphere. The sound is inspired by time spent on the dance-floors of clubs such as fabric and FOLD, where a policy of darker, more experimental sounds is welcomed and encouraged. 

The focus of this mix was to strike a balance between flow and track selection - with the idea that every transition should sit perfectly in place without disrupting the groove. 

2 hours spanning minimal, 90s tech house, techno and electro.

There was an aging writer called Mortise Koshimitsu who lived in a small apartment. The apartment was beset with problems. It was damp, the wiring was frail and in the summer the leaking pipes added a must and swelling to the wood in the windows that effectively countered the joys of the heat. Koshimitsu’s life had been lived chiseling away at circumstance, and circumstances had not proved easy. There was however, one small reliable rush to be had, and it lay through a gloomy doorway, down some stairs and past a register.
