Umar Habib Uppal was born in Doha-Qatar. A pure Sufi/Pop/Rock artist having lots of talent as Vocalist, Lyrics Writer,Composer, Guitarist,Music Producer & Director and now-a-days he is the CEO of ALIF MUSIC PRODUCTIONS.
Umar Started his Musical journey in 2004 when he was just 17 years old and start learning guitar from his elder brother,after some time,Umer start learning different songs on guitar from Umair Jaswal & Umair plays a big role and helped a lot to develop his skills So Umar can continue his music,in that phase he got inspired from Umair Jaswal and his music. He start following his teacher as a vocalist and he used to sing different song of Famous artist of that time like Atif Aslam - Junoon - Ali Azmat - Noori -Call – Ep - Irtassh Etc
In 2006 Umair Jaswal arranged the first live performance for Umar and the time came when he performed live for the first time as a Vocalist.After that performance he got chance to share the stage with various underground artist as guitarist and as a vocalist.
when he got polished so he started searching for different musician to make his own band, So after searching on Orkut he found some musicians and made a band with the name of Arzoo. He did lots of performances under the name of Arzoo band but Arzoo band got broke because of personal reason of the band members.After Arzoo band,umar joined the Rateej band and share the stage as a vocalist and guitarist then under the name of Rateej band he got the opportunity  to perform on ATV show Jungle Rocks in 2009 but another ego factor broke up the Rateej band. After Rateej he decide that he will be a solo singer and continue his musical career.now the real struggle starts and all the days and nights were spend in writing song and composing the song after writing songs and lots of composition he was in a position to record these songs but umar didn't got financial support from his family. so  he tried sacrifice his daily pocket money. He didn't go to his college by traveling,he did walk four Kilometers daily so he can save the money. which was not too much to record a song in a professional way and got his first song professionally recorded but because of some financial reasons he cannot payed the music producer so he left the song as it is in the studio and did not got the copy of his song so after that umar started his research on music production and all the standards of music industry.
Worked for 4-5 years in music production houses besides that he was also working with different young underground artist from Islamabad from his home studio, and with some references he got the film project called Destruction and he did worked as music director and producer.As a musician he always tried to make something different and he did a unique music  production for the film. Umar also did two songs as a vocalist for the film as well but Unfortunately the film was not released.
He always listed the music by the different world wide music producers.but mostly he listened to the productions of "Sarmad Ghafoor" who is a very famous musician of Pakistan and lengendry A.R Rehman from India.
Umar was working on his album in between 2015-2017.when he got the offer from the band called matti de baway.Before joining the band matti de baway was doing a metal music and when umar joined he took the band to the sufi dimension.Worked for band almost 3 years from 2017-2019 as a vocalist , lyrics writer , composer and and as music producer ,Umar did lots of live performances and tv shows under the name of matti de baway.
From now on wards he is working with Sarkash Band as a vocalist and music producer, as well working on his debut Sufi album which is almost complete and will be release soon In sha Allah.
