Zur Zeit der 'goldenen Ära' der Jungle- und Drum & Bass-Szene vor der Jahrtausendwende besuchte der gebürtige Winterthurer DJ Molekül noch die Primarschule. Erst Jahre später kam er durch seinen Freundeskreis auf den Geschmack dieser faszinierenden Musikgenres und übt sich seither im Beatmatching der glänzend-schwarzen Tonträger.
Anfänglich vor allem begeistert vom Oldskool Jungle, welcher z. B. von Marvellous Cain, Remarc und Dextrous produziert wurde, gefällt ihm inzwischen auch aktueller, "geradliniger" und roher Drum & Bass, welcher auf Labels wie zum Beispiel Symmetry, C.I.A., Dispatch oder Flexout Audio veröffentlicht wird.
Im Zeitraum 2013-2020 war er Teil der Zürcher https://soundcloud.com/divercitybass Crew, welche im Raum Zürich regelmässig Parties organisiert.
Im April 2018 hat er zusammen mit Freunden das lokale Eventlabel https://soundcloud.com/eulachbass ins Leben gerufen. Eulachbass organisiert die Partyreihe namens Reset im https://soundcloud.com/kraftfeld.

Brent Colby aka HiFi Champion has been active in the reggae and dub music scene for over 20 years. During this time, he played extensively live and opened for many big names in reggae music, such as Toots and the Maytales, Buju Banton, Maxi Priest and Shaggy, just to name a few. 

Together with his friend Bunton, Brent formed Montreal's first ska band "Top Ranking". Their two track single became an instant success in Canada and Europe, exspecially in Germany. 

In 1985, Brent left the band to form the "Swinging Relatives". Besides touring across Quebec and Ontario, they recorded several demos. In 1992, they released a self titled six track EP featuring one song ("Riddim") with special guest Chaka Demus. Brent went to Kingston, Jamaica, where the drummer of "Third World", Cornell Marshall, mixed and produced the tracks at The Mixing Lab. One year later, the Swinging Relatives released a Celtic Reggae Fusion cassette tape single "Attache ta tuque" with a corresponding video that was played on heavy rotation on Much Music/Musique Plus.
 
Brent also played guitar for Jah Cutta and "Determination" in the late 90s.
 
Since 2011, Brent writes, produces and releases new compositions under the pseudonym "HiFi Champion". His first EP as HiFi Champion came out in March 2012 and is available on iTunes, amazon and many other e-tailers.

Svaha Sound System has evolved from stepping Sound Systems such as Jah Shaka, King Earthquake and Aba Shanti through the late 90's, mix in with that Drum and Bass, Jungle and Hip-Hop and Spiritual Hindu music and the foundation of Svaha Sound Systems sound is evident.

Having this deep education in the dance in addition to exposure to a wide variety of musical influences, a void in conscious music in the UK was highlighted, as only Roots Reggae was catering to this need. This gave birth to Svaha Sound System, combining Ancient Culture from Hinduism and Rastafarianism and pushing forward to a new dawn.

Music is a form of meditation and the same can be said of religion... So for me music is my religion.

I find my inspiration in music and it is ancient sounds and chanting, such as mantras which guide alot of my work.

The use of hindu mythology is an attempt to celebrate my heritage whilst pushing the idea of music as a vehicle for change and re-definition of old world traditions.

Svaha is the sanskrit word for 'so be it'... that sums up my music perfectly... it harks to the idea that you shouldnt over complicate it, just let it be.
