The whole melodic-technoid thing might be well established already. However, believe it or not: Seth Schwarz and Westerby take it to a yet another level. Their track Aphelion has truly symphonic dimensions and opens a hidden bonus stage in the heads of the dancefloor. Here you can easily lose yourself in a morphing maze of kaleidoscopic patterns that is the multi-layered flow of the melody. Excellent fuel for collective high-altitude flights. NordFold & Budakid provide a remix for all those who prefer it a bit more minimalist, whereas Mollono.Bass lives up to his signature style and pushes Aphelion a notch further towards boost and pressure.

MASAYA-Mina compilation vol.2

A binaural recording of three tracks from my first 4DSOUND performance - Woven Ancestry, Meadows and Gravity Well.

The experience will only work if you listen with headphones, and in a quiet location. Closing your eyes helps. Relax and let yourself naturally build a mental picture of your surroundings based only on what you hear.

ABOUT 4D SOUND

The 4D Sound System was designed and developed in Amsterdam by Paul Oomen, Salvador Breed, Luc Van Weelden and Poul Holleman. It comprises 16 columns with omnidirectional speakers at several heights in each column, and the columns spaced around the room in a 12 x 12 x 4m array.

They have designed Max for Live devices which provide a range of spatial controls within Ableton Live, as well as an accompanying visual 3D model of the space and sounds within it. This allows for a spatial composition/production process, whereby each piece of music is designed as a physical entity to exist within the space, as something that can be walked around inside and explored by the listeners.

The system is called "4D Sound" because it produces sound in all 3 spatial dimensions, as well as being able to move sounds through the space in time - the 4th dimension.

Steve Bug's reputation as an exceptionally gifted DJ, producer and music connoisseur is about to carry the beloved imprint to its 15th anniversary, which will be celebrated with its finest collection of raw talent yet, starting with this first instalment of the anniversary series called Four Jacks.

Following the winning format of the series thus far, Part 4 boasts two slamming new remixes of classics from the vault, and two brand spanking new tracks from Poker Flat's stellar roster. 

Trentemøller's electro touchstone 'Always Something Better' now draws the attention of DJ Tennis and Mind Against, who keep it slow and suspenseful with an intricate and modern deep house makeover. 

Chardronnet vs. Afrilounge's 'Shake It' was a defining moment of minimal tech in 2005, and Ejeca modernises it with a full-bodied treatment of peaktime melodic techno. The finale offering of new tracks created to mark the anniversary come from John Tejada & Justin Maxwell and Kindimmer; the former reach for vintage boompty house and noodly acid on 'All We Know', while the latter opts for delicately minimalist deep house construction for the chiming, gleaming 'Tremor'.

With all four of Poker Flat's Four Jacks now been revealed, the label has played its winning hand once again, demonstrating just how they have stayed at the top of their game at 15 years deep.

"I'm super-excited to be joining Sasha on his label Last Night On Earth. He's always had great taste in melodies and musicality so I am really happy that the music on my debut LNOE EP caught his ear. 'Reflection' has been a secret weapon for me for a while but now I'm pleased that other people can play it too - as well as 'Orbit' - whether that's on earth or in some other part of the universe!'            

The ‘Orbit EP’ will be released on June 8th on Last Night On Earth.

The idea goes back a few years, but was implemented completely only now for financial reasons. That is why Zeitraffer Records is still at the beginning of its career. Through the long-cherished dream of self- produced and distributed music, individual and diverse sound elements could be collected over the years for music production, which now mark the sound of Zeitraffer Records as unmistakable, fresh and innovative and thus have the potential to be club hits. Often it's those who enter the scene from a different background who take the evolution of music to the next level. Instead of suffering from tunnel vision they are full of open-minded curiosity. Seth Schwarz is one of them. His powerful productions meet the expectations of the dance floor, but at the same time they break the circle of imitation and repetition. Seth dedicated a great part of his youth to classical music. By merging the concepts of electronic music and classic composition he creates mighty bangers of truly symphonic dimensions. It's not unusual for him to record up to 70 instrumental tracks for a new production. The result is extremely catchy and has a unique feeling of flow elegance.
