Cuartero played for us for the first time last year, where he brought the house down with his signature tech-led rhythms in Room One. His debut with us was such a storm that we knew we’d be bringing him back again in the coming months, and so it made perfect sense to invite him to record a mix for the blog too. Before he joins us alongside the much-loved Solid.Grooves crew next Friday, he sent us a mix of punchy house grooves to warm us up for the date.

Anyone who approaches Techno music with intelligence and finesse is exactly in the right place with C.7even, because the young Frankfurt-native has her craft down to a tee. She found her way into electronic music back in 2009, shaped by many musical genres.

Contrary to many others, her style is constantly evolving and driven by the passion to constantly reinvent herself. Groovy-melodic, mystic- hypnotic, straightforward-uncompromising-  this is what she embodies, but she still has always a clear vision in her mind of the story that she wants to tell through the medium of electronic sounds.

A DJ set has to make sense to me, Im no fan of the approach to just step behind the decks and blindly improvise my way through my playtime-  Im always aware of what it is that I want to convey to my audience. That moment, when you ignite that spark in your audience- when the dancefloor really lets loose and people follow your leadership- that feeling just cannot be bought, that’s why I personally prefer longer sets (4-5 hours or more) over short and compressed playtimes. You can unfold and spread your wings so much more, and the connection between you and your audience gets so much deeper and more intense.
 In terms of own productions, C.7even doesn’t have anything official under her belt yet- but she doesn’t have to, because good stuff takes his time and her sets more than speak for themselves.  Anyone who likes to go on a sonic journey through many facets of House & Techno, who likes to let loose in a tightly woven atmosphere and anyone who prefers sophisticated music over anything mainstream- take the leap of faith and and immerse yourself into the world of C.7even.

Multi-faceted musician and co-founder of the Hungry Music label, Worakls, has unveiled the full tracklist for his stunning production ‘Orchestra’, an ambitious project filled with 10 brand-new productions, including recent single ‘Cloches.’  Allowing his musical film influences to fully express themselves by incorporating them into his music, ‘Orchestra’ combines the grandiose feeling of album opener ‘Nikki’ with the melodic rhythms of ‘By The Brook’, and wistful yet percussive tones of tracks like ‘Detached Motion.’ Packed with cinematic elements throughout, Worakls explains his creative process, stating:  “Along the years, I have become more sensible to the emotions of film music, and I wanted to lead my universe into that direction. My aim is to mix in the emotions of this music with the freedom and energy of electronic music.”   With the original music composed to be specifically played with an orchestra, the album is accompanied by a tour of the most prestigious venues in Europe where Worakls will be accompanied by an orchestra formed of 20 musicians. Having recently kickstarted the schedule in Paris, the tour will take in a further 9 sold-out dates across France and Belgium throughout February, March, and April.  

Spending the last ten years travelling the globe’s most prestigious concert halls and festivals, Worakls’ journey into composition started at the age of 3, learning the piano amidst his family of musicians. However, it was the 2015 launch of his 'Hungry Band' group alongside fellow frenchman N’to and Joachim Pastor which earned the French producer widespread acclaim. Proving his skills in composing film scores as well as electronic and orchestral productions, Worakls recently scooped the ‘Best Original Soundtrack’ prize at the Deauville Green Awards for Ushuaia and InFocus. The accolade was awarded to Worakls for his work on ‘Une Oasis d’Espoir’ alongside Nicholas Van Ingen & Jean Baptiste-Puchain.  

More than a first album, more than a show, ‘Orchestra’ is the culmination of an inimitable artist whose inspirations touch all generations of music lover. After more than a decade of waiting, ‘Orchestra’ marks the first solo album from Worakls, and is set for release on Friday 8th March.

Charley's Girl is a Hamburg based DJ and producer. His introduction into the electronic music scene was in 2013 through filming and the production of music documentaries and videos. Inspired and fascinated by the history and spirit of techno music, it didn't take long before he ventured out on his own in 2014 hosting and co-hosting successful events such as TECHNO& as well as the OBN Rooftop Session.

Having both his parents active in the music industry instilled a passion into Charley's Girl's upbringing and this led to his decision to launch his own music project in 2015. As soon as Charley's Girl was on the scene he was quick to be accepted, leading to a position as resident DJ at Hamburg's Pocca Club, playing up to 8 hour sets twice a month. In spite of his early beginnings he has been privileged to share the booth alongside artists such as Adam Beyer or Victor Ruiz.

His sets are dominated by straight forward Techno music, rounded up with long, deep and melodic breaks in addition to some House Influences - can't quite believe it? Then you better come check out his gig.
