As an outfit that has existed on the fringes of the club scene, Operant continues their willingness to break genre taboos and expectations with their debut LP, Traumkörper, exhibiting a hybrid vision of electronic and organic elements that gives rise to a sound self-described as somewhere between extra-terrestrial black-metal, singularity-sludge, proto-psy-trance, anime noise-core techno and auto-tuned trap-folk.

These disparate methodologies are bound together by the conceptual elements that operate at the core of Operant’s thematic universe: the transcendence and destruction of the body, consciousness melding with machines and the manufacturing of new realities. As a blueprint to new forms, Traumkörper sets a path both disorienting and euphoric.

Over the course of 11 tracks the Berlin based duo and operators of record label, Instruments Of Discipline, Luna Vassarotti (IT) and August Skipper (AUS) birth their dream-body, an unsettling soundtrack for the strangeness of our times.

PDR is back and with a bang! for our 39th release we bring you India's industrial techno/noise duo, Sumerian Ancestry.

They deliver two tracks that assault the senses.

Kicking things off is Basics of Agony.  Dark, menacing and unrelenting throughout.  Intricate drum patterns twist and weave under a repeating, hypnotic synth line.  the only break in the assault coming with distorted screaming vocals.

Next up is Leftouts of the Abyss.  Another track laden with drums and noise, expertly crafted together.

This release serves as a reminder that techno doesn't have to look back in time for inspiration.  Sumerian Ancestry have delivered the future sound of techno.  Harsh, brash and heavy.

Glasgow based Kenny Campbell has gained a reputation for delivering hard hitting sets whether they are techno, industrial, EBM or old skool hardcore. He’s as comfortable playing at 100 bpm as he is 300 bpm.

In recent years he’s been a regular at Drone in Manchester as well as playing all over the UK, Europe and as far afield as Sri Lanka, with frequent appearances in Germany, France and Netherlands. In his travels he’s played alongside such diverse names as Nitzer Ebb, KRTM, Laurent Ho, Philipp Strobel, Black Kolor, Crystal Geometry, The Horrorist, Easygroove, Autumns, D.Carbone, The Mover and many more.

Running the label Pitch Dark Records, initially with Alex Mullen and now on his own has seen the label go from strength to strength, with releases being supported by many A list names.

As a producer he achieved his life long dream of releasing on Industrial Strength Records. With other notable releases and remixes on Drone, Eradys, RIOT Radio Records, SHISHI, Raven Sigh and Taro Records. His long term collaboration with Huck Farper as Bone Skippers has featured on Monolith Records and Green Fetish Records and his now prolific collaboration with Duelist has seen releases on Scuderia, Black Verb, Dissonanze and Clan Destne Records.

His love of 90s hardcore has been a focus and along with Technotrance they have relaunched Judgement Day Records and collaborated on Malevolent Forces, with the aim of bringing the sound of 90s hardcore to a new generation of revers and old heads alike.
