Успокаивающий блюз (Blues Duet)

For retuned mandolin, synthesizer, feedback and room resonance. The piece was not concieved as a winter soundscape but it all seems to make sense and the title too. Perhaps tomorrow there will be another new one with rebab (which I have been composing/preparing for all last week) and wind instruments, other captures. Who knows. It's like the weather. Checking in with you all tomorrow.

Seuil Optique, duo of Sig Valax and Nicolas Tourney, originally dedicated themselves to musical practice in complete darkness, where each sound was generated without any visual aid. This method allowed the duo to develop an acute sensitivity to the acoustic properties of their instruments and the surrounding space. Seuil Optique is interested in the physical properties of sound, intuitively manipulates machines, and creates immersive sound environments. The two musicians invite the audience to active listening and total immersion. Their philosophy is based on the idea that music is not just to be heard, but to be experienced as a complete sensory experience.
Seuil Optique builds frescoes where electronic impulses, slow gestures and acoustic responses intersect: each of their albums, tells the story of an eyeless camera, of a journey beyond the screen. An ephemeral present filled with the memory of this interior film that everyone projects on their eyelids in the evening.
