Oldboy's passion for drum and bass was ignited by attending early UKF Bass Culture events in London during the rise of dubstep in the early 2011s. Experiencing performances from artists like Skrillex, Nero, Knife Party, DJ Fresh, Gemini, Joker, Flux Pavilion, Doctor P, Roksonix, Feed Me, 16bit, Camo & Krooked, and Chase & Status inspired him to delve into electronic music and develop his own artistic path.

Between 2014 and 2017, Oldboy became an active participant in the Los Angeles drum and bass community. He performed at Insomniac’s Bassrush events at Exchange LA, a venue recognized in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs list. During this period, he had the opportunity to support notable names in bass music, including Noisia, Netsky, Pendulum, Andy C, Caspa, Rusko, and Nghtmre, earning appreciation for his energetic performances and audience engagement.

Beyond his appearances at Exchange LA, Oldboy was deeply rooted in the city’s underground rave culture, performing at intimate events across Hollywood and the greater LA area. These shows gave him the space to refine his sound, connect with the core of the scene, and explore the creative possibilities of drum and bass.

Known for his precise mixing, powerful sets, and ability to command any crowd, Oldboy developed a reputation as a versatile and innovative DJ. His journey was fueled by passion and growth, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire his artistic evolution today.
