For over a decade now, UnLearn the World’s been living in the Bay Area and has since become a fixture in the scene there, which is why we begin this interview discussing the tragic murder of Zumbi of Zion I before discussing UnLearn’s music, how he reconnected with Jake One, and gaining fans and notoriety on the internet in the pre-blog era, the hip-hop internet’s true golden era.

UnLearn is UnLearning The World...

     He's never won any awards, yet his words win over hearts and minds. He's never been part of the "Freshmen Class" or on the cover of any magazine, but his message is in a class of its own, proving to be just as potent and relevant as any rapper on your top five list. Considering this, it's safe to say that UnLean is probably the dopest MC you've never heard, but need to listen to.  In a climate clouded and darkened by artists and executives who focus more on quick commercial success rather than long term cultural impact, UnLearn has been grinding on the periphery of the music world, waiting to take the main stage and shine his light in the name of all things Hip Hop; the music, the culture and the movement. 

His appeal comes as a wordsmith of the people with a musical ministry; focused on creating  “New School Soul-Music”, to become one of the truer and more influential voices in Hip Hop. Labeled as one of "Most slept on MC's" by a number of Hip Hop Blogs and industry taste-makers, UnLearn has chosen to embrace his underdog status in the game, with the title of his debut album "The Wake Up Call". As an MC, Writer, Poet, Actor and Activist, this Hip Hop Renaissance Man takes the best from all dimensions of song writing for this project, in order to showcase his substantive, yet accessible brand of lyricism while he chronicles the emotions, triumphs and tragedies that make up the Urban American experience.
